Trading for Micah Parsons Makes No Sense for the Rams
In the world of NFL offseason drama, another story has captured the attention of fans on social media. Micah Parsons has requested a trade from the Dallas Cowboys. Similar to the Jalen Ramsey trade request from the Dolphins, many fans are clamoring for the Rams to pull the trigger and make a deal. Let’s get real.

Re: Trading for Micah Parsons Makes No Sense for the Rams
It doesn't make sense for the future for the now 2025 makes sense. Long term the assets you need to give up outweighs his value. He is a better Ramsey in terms of what he can bring to the Rams but we need a QB in the future and those 2 1st round picks are the answer to potentially getting us there. We can have a short sugar high or a long term stability. Currently we have 2 1st a 2nd etc plus 20m in money in our coifers. We have a ton of players due new contracts and most deserve them we need the $ to do it.
The only question a Ram fan needs to ask if we traded for Parson assuming we lose BY in the trade do we make or win the SB verses standing pat being able to add a piece at the trade deadline if needed bc of the $ we have available? I think most would say prior to hearing of Parsons trade request we were good enough currently to win the SB. We got to both Hurts and Darnold a ton in the playoffs. Imagine what this line can do with better ILB play, Poona Ford and another full off-season I would think we will be even a step better and that's without a Parsons.

Re: Trading for Micah Parsons Makes No Sense for the Rams
Cowboys would want at least one first round pick. Rams need their’s to replace a 37 year old QB soon.
Parsons wants to be close if not the top paid NFL defensive player. That means probably losing multiple young players currently on roster at some point. Not wise IMO. They are building through the draft. Stay the course.

^^^ this, 100%. They dont need another player who needs a raise every time someone else in the league jumps him in salary. Been there, done that.NorCal RF wrote: ↑August 2nd, 2025, 10:40 am Cowboys would want at least one first round pick. Rams need their’s to replace a 37 year old QB soon.

They've got a good young defense who will need to be paid before we know it. Like NorCal wrote. Stay the course.

Re: Trading for Micah Parsons Makes No Sense for the Rams
He isn’t going to be traded.
Jones, 82, had a message for fans in wake of Parsons’ trade request.
"I would say to our fans, don’t lose any sleep over this," Jones said, via the Star-Telegram.
On the other hand…
“Yes I wanted to be here. I did everything I could to show that I wanted to be a Cowboy and wear the star on my helmet. I wanted to play in front of the best fans in sports and make this Americas [sic] team once again. The team my pops and I grew up cheering for way up in Harrisburg, PA. Unfortunately, I no longer want to be here," Parsons wrote in his post.”
"I no longer want to held to close door negotiations without my agent present. I no longer want shots taken at me for getting injured while laying it on the line for the organization, our fans and my teammates. I no longer want narratives created and spread to the media about me. I had purposely stayed quiet in hopes of getting something done."
Rams don’t need any part of this costly drama.

Re: Trading for Micah Parsons Makes No Sense for the Rams
I disagree, at least to an extent. IF the identity of the RAMS going forward is defense, loading Parsons into that defense would be devastating. Adding him to Turner, Fiske, Verse, Young, Lake, Speights and whoever else pays at the window from among the draft picks could be a front 7 that is sheer murder on offenses. Two really good D backs and we could be a defense to be reckoned with for years.

Re: Trading for Micah Parsons Makes No Sense for the Rams
The thing is you won’t be able to keep all those players that you mentioned when their time comes. And what Turner n Young are in two years. And you have Nacua coming up n Avila……….GoldenRam wrote: ↑August 3rd, 2025, 5:10 pm I disagree, at least to an extent. This is a lot like 2021 where we are in a position to go all in to win a Super Bowl. If you can add Parsons and we go all the way then fuck yes, it was worth it. Let the future take care of itself. Make the deal.

That article was laughably ridiculous. Those 2 first rounders next year are to get Stafford's successor.

That future may be difficult “to take care of itself” if you don’t address the QB position like soon. Very soon…….timlan205789 wrote: ↑August 4th, 2025, 6:17 am This is a lot like 2021 where we are in a position to go all in to win a Super Bowl. It may also hinder that future if you lose players like Turner n Young because you can’t address their contracts in two years…….

This whole 'make the deal' now chatter, is just insane to me. Just crazy. Then 'the future will take care of itself'... Really? Let's check in on the Saints, Giants or even Chicago and how that mentality took care of itself, for them....
And NO, it's not 'worth it' like you stated. Not at all actually. This will not only kill our cap, kneecap us for years to come, but we have much GREATER NEEDS than the DL spot. If we are going to get brave and do a contract like this, i'd much rather see it spent on a LT spot or other spots we are thin at.
And the major difference in 2021 was that we didnt make the deal for OBJ till mid season when we knew we were a contender and we absolutely needed the help. Plus, that deal didnt kill us. Parsons will demand a HUGE contract, and it's a much different type of deal.
No, no and hell no.

Especially the ATL pick. We all assume we will be drafting in the late 20s - to 32 which most likely all those top QBs will be gone so we must keep both picks if the goal is getting the exact QB.D-GenerationX wrote: ↑August 4th, 2025, 11:43 am That article was laughably ridiculous.
