Bottom post of the previous page:
Oooh the entertainment this board will provide if we sign Ramsey will be spectacular and I'm here for it. Not saying we are, don't want the usual crybabies coming at me with their tiki torches like the proud boys of Charlottesville. I just want to see the entertainment.

Maybe he sees a SB run in the Rams and is willing to do a more friendly deal....but given his $$$$ history, I doubt it. I do think we need more corner help unless....UNLESS......Forbes has developed into his 1st round form this off season. That would be great. He is still on the team right?

I personally loved Ramsey, and was sad when he left. I loved his swagger and toughness. If he can still play, Rams should get him if they can afford him. DBs will then be in good shape; and it looks like the 2 MLBs we got in draft and UDFA may pan out. The D would have even better potential with an effective Ramsey in the fold.

So ALL remaining CAP space will be allocated to this guy ? Is there any thought to obtaining a legit 3rd OT ? To me this is a foolish way to proceed but all indications point to this being all but done.

The fallout when AJ goes down.....I think they HAVE to address that possibility.

List of available OT plus George Fant:
Caleb Jones
David Quessenberry
Le’Raven Clark
Joseph Noteboom
Jedrick Wills
Daniel Brunskill
Oli Udoh
Isaiah Wynn
Michael Dunn
Chuma Edoga
Conor McDermott
Robert Hainsey
Andre Dillard
Justin Herron
D’ante Smith
Quinn Bailey
Foster Sarell
Kion Smith
Caleb Jones
Nicholas Petit-Frere (waived by Titans)
Who from this list are we concerned about saving $ for? Me? None………
OT of any playing ability just don’t become available this time of year. Sure maybe at the trade deadline but this is why they signed 5 UDFA OL
There is no OT to worry about saving $ for so to not trade for Ramsey if they decide to do so. Would I trade for him? Not sure. But I’m certainly don’t want anyone from that list of FA OL.

That's why I would up the pick and get Miami to eat nearly all his salary over tbe next two years, if I was the Rams. I rather give up a 3rd and get a Miami 5th rounder, Ramsey and get Miami to eat at least 15 million of Ramsey salary. Which would bring it closer to 7 million in 2025 and non guaranteed 20 million in 2026.
With that said, many disagree and would rather take on 17 - 20 plus of Ramsey salary, make it fit with a new deal (which just screws up the cap in later years) and only have to give up a 6th rounder.

F them picks....
On the OT, didn't we land Dotson thru another teams "trash"? I have no idea on this list, but we will need someone besides Arcuri. Maybe the kid from KS can do the job. McClendon is much better at RT. We just need some valid backup. And I hope we don't use any.

Agreed
Imo the Rams will be willing to give up a higher pick to get Dolphins to pay a large portion of Ramsey salary.
If the rams had a ton of cap room and didnt need Dolphins to pay a large portion of it, Rams might have been able to get Ramsey for a 6th and 7th rounder.

I agree Ocram - spot on but this seems to be a done deal & we live with it. It seems to be a serious overpay for a declining player who cares only about himself. I can still recall his post SB victory sulk after a poor post season performance - He is a me first guy who seems headed back to the Rams - what happened to “We not Me” Coach McVay ?

They don't have to give up a 3rd for Ramsey and a 5th.
They could get him for maybe a 6th and 7th rounder but Miami wont eat his salary for such low picks. Rams would just have to redo his deal and push money to later years.

Why would an ultra-greedy and ultra-egotistical guy like Jalen Ramsey wish to 'redo his deal' though? Is it really such a great idea to create future salary-cap problems for our team?
I'm baffled by all this fascination with a self-centered, 'Me Not We' player who is clearly past his performing prime...!!

JMO you are not giving up a 3rd for him no matter how much salary Miami is willing to pay.
I sense Miami wants to move him so I can see a 5th n will pick up some salary or a 6th n we won’t pick up that much.
I think he ends up with the Rams. I trust that McVay can get him to see things more his way a second go around.

The guy is going to be 31 in October. I wouldn’t pay anything for a CB on the wrong side of 30. Dolphins want to get rid of him bc they know he isn’t worth his salary given his age. Unless the Rams are getting him for free, it feels like a Tredavious White situation. A name guy that’s close to washed

Would rather not have him if it means $$$ and picks (within reason). Would have to be a VERY good deal- because yes, he is not the JR of 2019 anymore. Counting on you Forbes!!!

Ramsey, unlike Forbes or DW has a unique skillset that the rams need. He is a corner that can play close to the LOS, play nickel and help with Run defense. Ramsey can easily play nickel, safety or outside corner.
With Ramsey 20 plus a year salary, the Rams could easily get him for a 6th and 7th rounder pick. But if they want to get Ramsey cheaper (Miami eat his salary) Rams will have to increase their draft compensation.
How much more draft compensation depends on how much salary you want Miami to eat. You could get Ramsey salary down to around 7 for 2025, which makes him very affordable. But again, that means Miami will have to eat almost 17 million of Ramsey salary for 2025. That's alot, and Miami will want to be compensated for eating that much salary.

It strikes me that the verb tense (present rather than past) is inaccurate here.
My calendar indicates that it's no longer 2021... :? :(

Got to agree here. We are only as strong as our weakest link. We need a back up Tackle that's an upgrade from Noteboom.

More likely Boom returns for the minimal.
