Way too early to be talking about Manning and next year's draft...
Well if Stafford is out, I wouldn’t be shocked if the Falcons finished better than us. Sorry, but someone has to say this. Sucks.Bulldawg wrote: ↑August 15th, 2025, 10:00 amWay too early to be talking about Manning and next year's draft...
BUT, if we want to trade up to a top 5 pick it will depend on 1)where we finish, and 2) where Falcons finish.
It will take more than a future first round to trade up with a #15 (Atlanta) and #25 (Rams) pick. Both picks could be higher or lower. Top 5 picks tend to be very expensive. Not to mention a future round 1 pick equates to a current round 2 pick. Best thing to happen is for Falcons to go 0-17 but that is not going to happen.
I would not be against getting the 3rd-4th QB out of the draft. (I think that is reasonable expectation with a trade.) Supposed to be a good draft year for QBs. History shows us there is still <50% chance the pick will be successful.
That is another option. Basically, we need the average of our 2 picks to be low for a higher chance. Might not need to trade if we have a really low pick. My preference would be a #1 pick and a #36 pick.DelMar wrote: ↑August 15th, 2025, 10:03 amWell if Stafford is out, I wouldn’t be shocked if the Falcons finished better than us. I would NOT give up what Truth suggested. That’s way too much imo. 5 first rounders is way too much to offer
I was thinking more like three, total. If Atlanta's pick is high enough in 26 we trade it for two future firsts. One in 27 and one in 28. Then in 27 we trade our first and those two along with our own pick to move up.
I agree I’ve thought that it would take the 2026 1st round picks (2) and the 2027 to grab him or whomever the over all best QB is. I am fine with that.
there will be a QB that comes out of the pack not named ManningBulldawg wrote: ↑August 17th, 2025, 5:29 am Slow down on all the Archie talk. What has he done except being born with a great name? He couldn't even beat Ewers out at Texas. Yes, he has potential but he is not worth 1 first round pick yet. Now, if we are talking about ANY QB in next year's draft, I could get on board with speculating.
