IF the guy is good mcvay sends him for 50 + yard kicks as he did plenty of times with GAY and greg the leg.
I don't know. Zuerlein went from 95% McVay's first year to 72% his third year, and then getting the boot. Gay had one decent season and then two GREAT seasons and we let him go.

Maybe my overall point is that we don't seem to handle kickers very well - finding them, grooming them, keeping them. But maybe that's just the reality of the NFL. Maybe I don't know what my point is at all. Carry on.
We let Gay go because indy was paying him a MASSIVE amount of money that we couldn't ....

Agreed
Indy paid Gay so much that they admitted they overpaid, when they cut Gay, just 2 years in a 4 year deal, after they found a cheaper replacement.

With that said, Im not even sure that Karty is the issue. Mcvay said there's been blocking and holding issues too that has to get cleaned up.

Thats why I want Chase gone. Rams STs has had alot of different issues. Even the STs coverage been weak at times. Almost gave up a few big plays.

Agreed.

He’s def had his issues this season, but I think Karty also loss some confidence after the way our ST OL has played…

I think and believe he’ll come around and kick a game winner for us soon. Then this entire board will then be ‘Karty Party’ and ‘he’s the best’ all over again.

This is the point. You can hate Karty all you want. Who are you going to bring in? Moody 49ers reject? Koo, he was picked up the minute he was cut. Stop hating on Karty and tell me who?

Sounds to me like Karty's either Sean and the misses 3some partner or he's sticking with him because he doesn't think Karty is the problem.

After today I think they have to do something. Karty is a mess mechanically n probably between the ears also. I’m looking to see if a bottom feeding team would want to make a trade. What would the Raiders want for Carlson……..

Sadly, its going to take more than one kick. Gotta at least send scouts all over the planet watching soccer games. Find what Dallas found! Proactive!

I would like to DETRACT my statement above.

Time to move on.

Somebody needs to go. The kicker, the holder or the snapper. Maybe more than one. If we continue with this sub par kicking game it's going to cost us in the playoffs.

Just sign Justin Tucker after week 10. It isn’t rocket science.

This week should be Karty’s last as a Ram. I doubt any other team gives him a shot.

On the 2nd miss...the one that was way right or it would have been blocked....he did not start his approach until the holder had the ball on the ground. Usually the kicker starts forward at the snap.

On his other kicks he started earlier, so I'm not sure what happened on that kick

Maybe Karty needs to go barefoot, Mike Lansford style.
Mike Lansford was a terrific clutch placekicker for the Rams, I'm figuring that he and David Ray were the best overall at the position in our team's history.

Whether barefoot kicking would help Joshua Karty though, now that's another issue...

RAM SEASON!!

Karty is not a bad kicker but he needs to sort out his head.. I've been very supportive of him but after this week it just feels like he needs to sit on the bench and get coached up by a old retired Vet kicker.

Before Week 9, Karty has made 10 of 14 field goals (71.4 percent) and 19 of 21 extra points (90.5 percent). But with Week 9 factored in, his field goal success plummets to 66.7 percent, while his extra point success tumbles to 88.5 percent. Like it or not, those are the numbers that send kickers packing.
