Rams Must Respect the 49ers Heading into 2025

As the Los Angeles Rams gear up for the 2025 NFL season, their sights are set on reclaiming dominance in the NFC West—a division they’ve fought tooth and nail to control in recent years. Fresh off a 2024 campaign that saw them sweep their archrival San Francisco 49ers and secure the division title, the Rams might feel a surge of confidence heading into the new year. However, despite the 49ers’ apparent setbacks and roster turnover, Los Angeles would be wise to approach this rivalry with caution. The 49ers, even in a state of flux, remain a dangerous foe, and underestimating them could spell disaster for the Rams’ ambitions in 2025.

I think "we" are taking the NFC West too lightly. I am concerned that Seahawks, cardinals, and 49ers won't be push overs.

Think you are correct. Just hope McVay doesn’t allow that.

The Rams have to keep improving in the areas that have allowed them to be competitive against the NFC West.
The 49ers used to play more physical football than the Rams, But now I think our pass rush and defensive front is better than theirs, I think our offensive line is better than theirs as a unit, However, we have to continue to feed these two areas
Neglecting the linebacker position in our division is stupid, Seattle is going to run the ball, San Francisco is going to run the ball and throw short crossing routes and use their tight end, The Cardinals are going to try to run the ball and you need to mirror Murray. We need to improve our linebackers specifically for our division

Niners will be a solid team in 2025 but with that said I expect at the very least a split but more likely a sweep by the rams.
Cards will more likely be a split if the rams play a healthy Kyler Murray early. Cards early in the year is a tough out but late in the year they can be tough but easier.
I expect a sweep of Seattle.
Imo when it is all said and done, I'm expecting Rams to be 5-1 vs NFC West teams.
I feel very upbeat about this Rams team. Alot more up beat then in past offseasons. The last time I felt this good going into the season was the Rams SB year.
Loved the signings of Adams and Ford. Too huge weaknesses fixed. Keeping AJ was huge. I fully expect the rams to address Tight End, Coverage LB/Star position/Nickel corner (which could all be the same person in this defense), change of pace back and a backup swing tackle, before the season starts.

If McCafferty is healthy, then the 9er running game will be tough. We need to invest in a 3rd round LB in the draft. I'm not worried about Tyler Murray; diminutive QBs don't excite me.
In Stafford we trust.

I think the NFC West is the weakest it has been in a long time. Seattle is going thru a miny rebuild. SF just lost 9 starters off last years team. That is going to hurt big time. And AZ is a big ? IMO. I think the Rams are head and shoulders above the rest of the team. Have to go out and play the games but I like our chances

While I'm doubtful that our team's players and coaches are likely to underestimate their divisional rivals, notably the 49ers, I do agree that an upgrade at ILB is clearly necessary for the Good Guys.
Hopefully a 'Hacksaw'/Ekern type will be selected by the Rams in the third round of this year's NFL draft... 8-) ;) :geek:
RAM SEASON!!

The Cards concern me the most, however the Seahawks and niners will also be sneaky.

How would overconfidence be unlike the last two seasons where we got out to horrible starts? We need to start quick this year in order to leave a little margin for error.

Good post. The Rams are the best team in the division and I'm stoked on our defense. They really came together last year, especially the playoffs. The NFL is a competitive business but over the course of a season, quality teams rise to the top. I agree that we may drop 1 or 2 max in the division but that's it. 5-1 or 4-2. I'm not worried about any of them quite honestly.
SF just got decimated in free agency and the remaining stars like CMC, Trent Williams, Kittle are injury prone. No Dweeb-O and no Aiyuk for a while.
Seattle is getting better but they lost some big time WR's and which Sam Darnold are we going to see?
Arizona? Whatever. Kyler "hide the midget" is the most overrated QB in the NFL.

They've had 1 winning record in the last 9 years. I'd wait until they do something before getting too worried. I think Kyler Murray has only beaten the Rams twice in his 6 year career.
