Jalen Ramsey’s Reunion with the Rams? Snead Talks with Dolphins

Sean McVay, known for his candid yet calculated remarks, didn’t shy away from praising Ramsey while addressing the trade rumors. “You would certainly never rule out the possibility of that,” McVay said. “There’s a lot of layers that would need to be worked out with a player of his magnitude… but you would never eliminate the possibility of adding a total stud.” McVay’s comments reflect both admiration for Ramsey’s talent and an acknowledgment of the logistical challenges, particularly Ramsey’s expensive contract.

I have mixed feelings on this. No doubt Ramsey would shore up the secondary, but, I would prefer to move on to the future and develop our own lockdown corner.
Plus, the cap implications would be huge.
What are your thoughts?

It's further down the line - looks like trade talks have happened. Wouldn't be surprised if it happens on the 2nd/3rd day of the draft.

Though I'm intrigued at adding an upgrade at Corner, I'm not paying Ramsey more than I'm paying Adams, or would have payed Kupp for that matter. Ramsey at 10 million, we can talk.
Did you see the comments by Devante Adams about Ramsey? Doesn’t seem like they are best buddies

While I like the idea of a shut-down CB, we don't want to piss away draft capital or commit to an expensive resource eating contract.
Probably wiser to grab a decent CB in the draft.

Pretty boring of me, but I just gotta say 100% ditto.

Ditto.
If that were to come true, it better just be a 7th rounder for taking that headache off Miami's hands.

Probably indeed, rather than our team giving up draft picks for an ultra-expensive loudmouth on the downside of his career, whose contract would devastate the Rams' salary cap...

I with you here. I wonder if Ramsey's still hungry for it now that he's older, paid and has a ring. A young up and coming prospect would probably be more hyped and not playing for stats and ego as much ... yet!

Not even sure how we can do this with his contract. He's 31 and has a three-year, $72.1 million extension kicking in starting in 2026 which is 24 mil a year. I don't want to pay that and get stuck with a bunch of dead cap when his performance hits a wall. Like I said before, circle back to Miami before the trade deadline for a final push.
Hopefully we trade down and grab Hairston or Amos and forget about this nonsense.

Dolphins are in cap hell. They won’t find takers for that bloated contract and Jalen gets mysterious injuries when he wants out. I say let them cut him and eat the dead money and then make him an Odell Beckham type one year deal for 10 million with milestone incentives. He’s not a shutdown corner anymore and the Dolphins used him a lot as a safety in their schemes last year. Don’t have to give anything up and the contract would be reasonable enough with the incentives to motivate him. That’s the only way I would want him back on the rams.
Cincinnati took him to the woodshed when they played the Rams in the Super Bowl. Jamar chase toasted him and on that final offensive play Chase was running free from Ramsey who was in the dirt and AD came through with the pressure to prevent burrow from hitting a free running CHASE FOR THE GAME WINNER. Definitely don’t want RAMSEY AT HIS TERMS BECAUSE HES NOT THE SAME PLAYER.

I think that was McVay just being nice. Sure, the POSSIBILITY exists...but he's just being diplomatic. Ramsey won't be a Ram.

Not crazy about Ramsey part 2 but I do like making drafting easier, if he's affordable, he would be the best CB on our team and we can focus on ILB. Stabilizing CB, Jihad a solid TE and OL depth would be a nice situation

I agree with all that, just don't think he'll be any form of affordable.

With a limited draft this year, it makes me wonder if a reunion with Ramsey becomes more of a possibility?

My thoughts exactly. He's not the same corner he was a few years ago and he wants way too much money. Plus what would we have to give up in a trade? It's time for an infusion of youth in the secondary where they are younger, faster and most of all.....cheaper.
