The Rams have been proactive in bolstering their roster this offseason, with a particular focus on strengthening their defense. The Rams did not draft a CB in the 2025 NFL draft, and there is widespread speculation that the Rams are looking to bring back Jalen Ramsey. The re-signing of veteran cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon to a one-year deal was a prudent move, but questions remain. Should the Rams pursue free agent Asante Samuel Jr., formerly of the Los Angeles Chargers?

For me this rather simple.... Samuel! It's not close in my book. I think Ramsey is sliding toward mortality, and then his contract..

Samuel might be the more affordable and best option at this point. I like Ramsey but he wants to be paid like the star that he is no more.

Why does no team want to touch Samuel with a 10-foot pole? He was a big name but now he's black balled or something. Good young corners just do not stay on the market this long. Not sure what's going on with him.

Samuels is only 25 yrs old so that's far less risk than Ramsey. And he will be cheaper IF he plays for more than one year in LA, but he'll get guaranteed money of over $20M if he signs a long-term deal. He's never made the big bucks so he's looking at that as FA. But, some say his injuries to both shoulders may force him to take a 1-year prove-it contract.
He's also small at 5'10" and 180 lbs.

It is a really good question, young and productive minus his injuries.
