Air Puka

Puka Nacua has made a lot of spectacular catches in his brief NFL career thus far, but his touchdown grab against the New England Patriots last season might’ve been his best. It was a diving catch near the edge of the end zone, going full-extension to make the grab for six points.

As incredible as the catch was, the image captured by team photographer Bryce Todd might’ve been even better. He caught Nacua laying out to make the catch, cradling the ball with two hands as he seemingly hovered above the ground. The lighting was perfect, beaming over Nacua and creating a glow around him with long shadows on the field.

It's been appropriately named, "Air Puka."

The photo was so good that the Pro Football Hall of Fame awarded Todd the Dave Boss Award of Excellence, making it the photo of the year in the NFL for 2024.
