let's hope McVay designs plays for him and Stafford throws to him as well.

More I watch this kid, the more I see why McSenad love him. If you know how McVay works, you'll see exactly why here...

The Stafford throwing to him thing is the more problematic in my eyes. He loves to focus on one guy a lot, and he's going to have Puka and Adams to key on. The kid needs to impress in camp, and any preseason time he gets, show Stafford he can be counted on. It may make a difference in whether Staff targets him early on

totally agree with you and that is why I think there has to be designed plays for him because Stafford has shown over the yrs he does not throw a lot to TE's and he does focus on 1 guy

Stafford with Higbee - pretty much League average in Stafford’s first year (2021), as Higbee was #16 for total targets (TE). The following (shit-show) year in 2022, Higbee was 5th in the League for TE targets (yay). 2023 targets dropped slightly below League average at right about #20 (70 targets). Last year he was mostly injured.

I’m not worried too much about designing plays for Higbee or TFerg, esp. after watching McVay OC at WASH. I am tho worried about our O-line holding up and allowing the playbook to get properly used. Just like the huge advantage a defense has when it can routinely apply pressure rushing 4 (or 5), an offense does as well when it isn’t heavily relying on backs and TE’s used in pass protection.
