What an acquistion?! Best tackler we have had at LB since Laurenitis. Also, huge play to save the game.

Landman actually made his tackles at the line of scrimmage. Not 10 yards down field………

I know it was only 1 game but it was nice seeing a player (landman) flying to the ball and not cringing if the tackle was going to be made or not! Hope this isn’t just a one game deal for him!! Especially week 3

What a concept.

Yep. You as a former coach know this… That’s because when your DL stuffs the box, our LB’s are able to step up and make the tackles… unlike in years past, where the DL would stuff the box BUT our safeties and corners were the ones making the tackles. LB’s were nowhere to be found.

Finally… way is supposed to be.

Exactly! And how cool to see Landman create a turnover as advertised. Peanut Punch Landman! I mentioned during camp that hopefully they’ve had him punching the ball in practice a lot against Williams. Williams had good control today, and Landman is a stud.

Might be one of the steals of the off-season. No complaints even before the peanut, which he was noted for to begin with. Thanks Raheem!

I think its hard to judge without fully understanding the scheme (which is not to suggest I come close to knowing).

Well Maybe but it's a damn good thing he was 8 yards downfield when he forced the decisive turnover... ;)

My comment was a reminder of how JL IMO got most of his tackles. IMO this fan base has always over rated JL.. I hope like hell Landman is much better than JL or we will be in trouble………

Lauranitis had over 100 tackles 7 times in his career (over 100 solo tackles for 3 years), I would dispute your contention that he was a below average player but you are entitled to your opinion. All in all, it was a great win and great way to start the season so there is that.

I didn’t say he was below average. Average though definitely. We need Landman to be much better than average. Today looked like he is much better than that.

Ok 100 tackles 7 times. Doesn’t impress me. Doesn’t change the fact that he got many 10+ yards down field after a lot of times missing the tackle where he should have made the tackle. I’ll give him credit he always pursued down field after missing many tackles but again JMO he was not a good ILB. And I saw everyone of his games……….

I do appreciate though he gave me his game gloves after a game in Oakland that I worked the locker room that Sunday. Actually he gave the to a Ram equipment guy to give to me………

He was the leader of a D that was not one of the best. Someone has to make tackles. Unfortunately the stats don't tell of the negatives like when you let a back or reciever drag you 5 or 6 yards down the field for a 1st down before you bring him down. You still get credit for a tackle.
See todays Panthers/Jags game. Our old pal Christian Rozeboom, you know the guy who lead the team last year with over "100 tackles", he was the guy given credit for a tackle after Jags RB T. Etienne Jr. busted one for 71 yards to inside the 10. He missed him, chased and caught up with him after Etienne slowed to shuck and jive the safety.... then Boom got him from behind. Maybe not always to that extreme but that kind of shit happened alot with JL. I'm not a stats guy because of players like him. How the Team does and whether or not it creates a positive result is what's more important AFAIC.

I don’t know good of tackler he is, but on the final play he didn’t even go for a tackle. He went for the punch. That’s probably just good instincts to do that knowing he had help in the middle and the WR was going down anyway

That was my thought as well. It’s clear he just stood there ready waiting for the wr to make a move and just went for the knockout! Damn good reaction time but I don’t remember when in the game but I saw him punch at the ball another time when there was another defender with him. I hope there’s more fumbles to come!!

I really thought that Landman would be a marginal upgrade over Rozeboom based on how the Falcons let him go, and what the Rams are paying him. It is looking like a huge upgrade right now. Let's hope its a trend. I also believe that Dolac will become a starter, and a good one, at some point.
