Sorry, but to me he’s the main culprit for the Eagles and today’s loss. All these blocked kicks cannot be on the players — you really expect me to believe they “just can’t block”? Come on. That XP Karty “missed” today? BLOCKED. Again. If he makes that XP , game finishes 24-23 we win , no OT . A STs coach who lets that happen over and over has no business being here. Period. But Mcvay WILL NOT fire him . That is one of mcvays flaws as a HC , he is too reluctant to make changes when they need to be made . He usually waits until the season is over , which imo , is a big mistake.
And don’t even get me started on KW and his endless fumbles. ALWAYS in the clutch. ALWAYS at critical moments. It’s pathetic at this point.
McVay is out there blaming himself in the post-game interview for that atrocious 4th and 1 call — and damn right he should. You run it to the side of your BACKUP RT? Really? I respect the decision to go for it, but even after a timeout, that’s the genius play you dial up? Predictable as hell.
We just lost to the 9ers backups. Absolute embarrassment. No excuse.
And my patience with Shula? Almost Gone. His ultra-conservative, cowardly play calling is dragging this team down. The Rams need a whole new CB room, yeah, but that doesn’t change the fact that Shula’s play calling has been pretty suspect .
Oh and CORUM ? Can't catch a fucking ball ? that is why he will always be KW's BACK UP , dude can't catch a ball to save his life !

I can't deal with the kicking operation losing us games anymore . It is either blocked , or missed or something. If the OL blocks for Karty he nails the XP and we win the game , no OT . ALso , if KArty nails that 50 yarder ( the blocking was good in that one ) ......, again no OT .
We need to fire Blackburn and fix the kicking operation. Can't win many games when you can't kick Xps and Fgs.

Exactly . Now who is to blame ? I am blaming the St's coach. But in the end , it is Mcvay's decision to KEEP him there . So......

I agree and feel your pain...this team was not ready to play tonight...they had no fire...teams know smash the Rams at the beginning of the game and they wilt...this is a soft team...

McVay said after the Philly loss due to blocked kicks he said serious attention would be paid to the kicking operation obviously not or Blackburn is incapable of handling his duties. In 2024 there were a total of 19 blocked kicks in the entire league with 32 teams the Rams have 1/5 of that total after 5 games this is unacceptable.
I do not agree that the block affected this game but it did affect the Philly game this game it was a maybe at best. The fumble on the 1 yard line affected the game. That is most likely is why we lost. SF has one timeout and would need to use it and then after that we have 3 more shots and we could use our timeouts or not. There is no chance SF wins the game if we score in regulation unless we score on the next play and they then would have 1 timeout and need to march down the field to win. Highly unlikely.

Dude , the XP that KArty missed was BLOCKED . RE-WATCH . KW fumble and that BLOCKED XP were both responsible for this loss. Mcvay just said that he thinks that the 2 losses we had , were because of the kicking operation.

So what the EP was one point the fumble on the 1 yard line lost us the game period. It came with SF having only one time out left and we were starting on the 3 yard line we had 4 chances to score. If Jyren geld onto the ball we would be 2nd and goal on the 1 SF would have used their last timeout and then we would have 3 shots to score and we had all our timeouts. Outside of fumbling or not scoring from the 1 we win the game at worst case we kick a FG tieing the game. My guess we win with 3 shots from the 1.

Ah Mcvay your the HC, why is Chase still here? If you feel Chase brings something to the table and you don't want to lose that, then get him some experienced help. Hire a experienced ST assistant to help Chase, trust me, he needs it.

A few notes on this clown.
As a special teams player, In Super Bowl XLII, Blackburn had a costly penalty on a punt return as he was the extra man on the field on a 12-man-on-the-field penalty.
After the 2021 regular season ended, Rhule fired Blackburn from his coaching staff in January 2022. Blackburn was let go because of the Panthers' consistently poor performance in the special teams phase of the game during the 2021 season.

When they hired him , I saw exactly this resume . IT was a bad hire to begin with . But it seems they want to insist on their mistake .

IT doesn't matter , the kicking operation SUCKS . KArty missed a FG and the XP was blocked , that is 4 points on the board . Either of those things went right and we win , and of course , if KW didn't fumble we ALSO win . I share the blame 50/50 here , KW and the ST's.

Was it DeCamillis or Blackburn who released rookie Cameron Dicker (the punter kicker)?

He was garbage when he came here. I don't know why we hired him. But good ole McVay is the kind of guy that won't give up on someone until they have had too many chances. What has Blackburn ever done?

Absolutely nothing. Our ST's doesn't even have a fake punt or fake FG anymore .

Horrible move by Mcvay moving on from Bones. Looks like Bones called a fake without Mcvay approval, and that's that. Maybe there was more to it then that, but who knows.

Why
It's not his fault the GM gave him a rookie kicker that makes the league minimum. You get what you pay for in some instances.
Apparently the Rams brass believed they wouldn't need good kicker because the Rams offense would always convert on third downs..... well that's the only reason I can think of why the Rams brass would think they could get away with an unproven kicker.
You really are sold on the Karty sucks line. I think he has great potential/talent. Gotta block for him, and maybe there's something to the squib kicks messing him up.

Why ? Because he can't teach his damn LINE to block ? Is that a good enough reason for you ?

Karty is not a rookie nor is he making the league minimum. He is in his second year and was drafted out of Stanford.
Joshua Karty signed a 4 year, $4,158,388 contract with the Los Angeles Rams, including $138,388 signing bonus, $138,388 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $1,039,597. In 2025, Karty will earn a base salary of $960,000 and a workout bonus of $10,080, while carrying a cap hit of $1,004,677 and a dead cap value of $113,871.

Take away the three blocks when the line completely collapses, and he probably would be 11-12 for field goals this year.
He’s a good kicker, the offensive line is horrible at blocking.
