Seattle is a team that doesn't come out of their nickel to defend due to the size of their front and Nick Emmanwori (nickel / Joker)

Well , Sean knows his offense couldn't do shit against seattle in the last game so I am guessing he will change things quite a bit. I am thinking we will barely use 13 personnel this time...

I'm hoping McClendon playing over Hav (who was horrible vs Seattle last time) helps as well.

while it's in approximation, the Rams ran 13 personnel 18/50 plays about 36% of the time, they've been running it over 60% the last three weeks, the Seahawks sample size is not that great and I think Havenstein was an absolute liability, I don't know if the Seahawks should be high-fiving because the ram still ran the ball pretty easily

Good points.

McClendon is a upgrade to Hav
Ferg has been a blocking machine (best blocking TE in NFL) and is now playing as many as 70 percent of the snaps. Higs is solid but Ferg is even outblockinh him.
While Adams might miss the game, he didn't do much of anything the 1st time the rams played Seattle.

Adams was targeted 8 times but only had 1 - 10 yard reception for 1 of the 3 Ram TD's on the day vs the Hags!
They only targeted Parks twice that game so I think we'll see him more involved w/o Adams.

I was the thinking the same thing! McVay is coming out with a different game plan. After the rain game in Carolina and how they played us last time I think McVay and Lafleur are going to have something different.

I just read an article that Seattle's defense forced us out of 13 personnel and back to 11 personnel. McVay (and the Hawks) know what to expect now. Should be a great game.

They never came out of their big nickel. Even when the Rams effectively ran successfully against it on earlier drives. Instead of coming out of big nickel they just stacked the line (while remaining in big nickel) and dared Mcvay to throw. So the passing advantages wasn't there with 3 tight ends so Mcvay went with 3 wrs to attack their big nickel.

Rams have to run the ball effectively against their big nickel base defense, even when they stack the line and force them to go with a traditional 4-3. This allows the rams tight ends more favorable matchups in the passing game.

What makes Seattle different then most teams the rams play is Seattle have Nick Emmanwori who is a hybrid and they use him to play big nickel. He is big enough to be a LB but can cover as well as a safety. Good against run and pass. Because of Nick, Seattle stats in their big nickel, bc he is like having a 3rd lb, despite being a safety. Seattle having a big run stopping front, along with good lbs and cbs that can cover, are issues for the rams as well.

I know one thing, the rams cannot afford any turnovers or mistakes on offense.

^ I really believe this is the key to the game. Need to not turn the ball over.

Hoping Rams defeat the "big nickel" with a bomb to Atwell early

You guys think we might see the 14 personnel tonight?

Incase you're wondering... this is when McVay is so heated he cant stay off the field.

Remember this guy? He maybe needed again.

Imagine having hog tying the coach if he goes too far onto the field of play as part of your job description. :)

Right?!

You have to just wonder what his linkedin or CV/Resume says... like

Years: 2018-2021
Employer: Los Angeles Rams
Position: Assistant Coach
Duties: Yanking on McVay all game long

This is still the weirdest thing in my mind in the Sean McVay era....

:D
