Just to measure opinion here - Seems Rams win out they likely get 5th seed / could sink to 7th - Will the WC finish by the Rams result in the great season by QB Matt Stafford being denigrated in the MVP voting ? As of today 40 TDs and only 5 interceptions- clearly the Rams leader & offensive star. Do you think it will cost him the 2025 NFL MVP award ?

That is a good question. Maybe the writers who make the decision would be impressed by Stafford bouncing back after the defeat. Pure speculation and based on emotion.

I think he played great in the Seattle loss 457 and 3 tds no ints to me that is an MVP performance. They cant ding him for a super odd 2pt play a poor punt decision on STs and poor coverage. He even when asked to perform in OT scored a TD. That is a mark of an MVP.

Numbers aside, I think they'd give it to Darnold before they would Stafford if the Seahawks win the division.

Was not thinking of Darnold - it is very possible it could go that way - It would seem to be a shame if MS and his great season would turn on that game but I agree this vote is often emotional.

I don't think Darnold is going to get the MVP. I still think it's Stafford's to lose.

Darnold has a relatively high INT rate for this type of discussion - here is hoping Rams and MS finish the regular season strong and he is properly rewarded for what is shaping up as his best in a HOF career. One hopes this vote is not tainted by the Rams collapse in Seattle.

Numbers aside? What's that mean? The MVP is always determined by numbers and wins. Maybe it might be different if Darnold swept LA. One more win does not trump the lopsided QB stats.

Good point - Darnold stats (13 ints ?) do not measure up to MS @ any level - but - always fear these emotional biased votes for awards.

If the Patriots hang on to win the AFC East this season, then I would give the NFL's Most Valuable Player to Drake Maye over Sam Darnold, assuming it were a binary choice between the two of them as QBs of division champions...

Darnold is not EVEN in the conversation . It is between Stafford and Maye . 40 td / 5 picks against 24 td / 13 picks is too much to overcome , even if seattle went 17-0 they would not give to darnold with those stats when they compare so poorly to Staff / Drake .

Stafford should win given his offensive numbers and Rams PPG. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t.

He’s having by far the best year of his career. Even if the Rams get the WC you gotta give it to him on stats alone

East coast media bozos trying to give Maye MVP. He’s been impressive but he has 15 fewer TDs and 3 more INTs than Stafford and feasted on a soft schedule.

Fyi besides the stats Stafford should win because NE had the the easiest schedule of any team in the past 25 years. Rams on the other hand have played a very tough schedule with tons of the playoff bound teams.

Is there no case for Darnald at all?
The Guy could end up leading 2 different Teams to 14-3 records in consecutive years.
Minnesota crumbled w/o him and Seattle cleaned out their O of QB1 and WR 1 and 2 and he has them on the verge now too.
How would Seattle look w/o him.. just a thought, I still like Staff tho, by a lot.

This is a clear case of the mainstream media pushing a false narrative to generate interest and ratings and whatever else they are trying to do.

In what world is Stafford NOT the MVP? He leads in yards, TD's and QB rating. The 40-5 TD to int ratio is enough to win it right there but he also leads in those other categories and set a few NFL records. He broke Tom Brady's record of most TD's without throwing a pick and the Rams were the first team to clinch a playoff spot in the NFC. He might break another NFL record against Atlanta but we'll have to wait and see.

There really is no competition or mystery as to who the MVP is and it's our very own number 9.

Stafford also has a better qbr and more total yards. Even with his shitty game yesterday he should win.

Stafford may have cost himself the MVP. Some of those throws were horrible. The pick six yesterday, when he wasn't even pressured. The pick against the Lions on a one read screen play was even worse. The pick 6 vs Carolina, was horrible as well. Why even throw that?

More team wins by the Patriots. MVP isn’t “best player”, it’s most valuable. And voters probably look at the Rams as a pretty good team even without Stafford. Take Maye off the Patriots and where are they?

Patriots have been 4-12 the last 2 seasons. This year 13-3 it’s def gonna play a factor.

How many QBs get MVP of Wild Card teams?

I thought Stafford had it locked up based on stats but after last night I doubt he wins.
