You can get stops without them, but that requires people doing their JOBS, the last 4-6 weeks that does not define Rams D.

in this NFL if you let up 3 1/2 yards and then 3 1/2 yards, teams have two players to go 3 yards, if you're patient with this ram defense it's easy to beat because the defensive backs are not aggressive. How many times do we see a safety or a corner making a tackle at the line of scrimmage?

Until the Rams get bigger more physical players @ CB who can tackle - AND - employ a DC who attacks rather than always give ground - there will be a soft D that never gets TFLS and us not top tier .

Every team in the league has “Jags”. Why?

The league has this thing called the salary cap………

Carolina just had a Jag ILB make a INT that we could not wait to leave the Rams……….

This is true - Great teams with savvy FO moves allocate their limited resources wisely - $10,000,000 for a WR you do not play/use who catch 5 balls during an entire season while you are playing JAGs elsewhere on your team - that effects performance & key depth. It will catch up with you

Rams have more JAGs usual in back 7 because they have discrepancy in money spent between offense and defense and between certain parts of their defense. Speights an undrafted JAG. Nothing special. None of their corners are highly regarded. Scrap heap vets or low draft picks. One first rounder was cut. The most talent on defense comes from line and edge where we made the most investments money and draft capital wise. It’s a talent issue. I’m not a blame the coordinator guy like others.

As for Rozeboom I made a comment where he had had a much better year than Speights and people made fun of the comment. He has.

I agree on the Speights assessment- he seems to have regressed this year . The Rams do not allocate equal draft picks / FAs/ overall attention to the D as opposed to the O - and it is showing with the current version of the D and our standing in the NFL. Clearly, just not as good .
