Watching this team has become TORTURE

We were all teased by the "best all around team" bullshit. But when push came to shove EVERY SINGLE TIME the Rams lost, they didn't come through, the came up short. If that isn't an idictment on the coaching staff I don't know what is. Every single game they lost was a pivotal game, where a team would average a 50/50 chance, so in reality you win some and lose some. This team LOST ALL OF THEM.
Don't tell me this is an elite defensem, it's been terrible for 3-4 games now. They can't shut anyone down when it counts. The 49ers offense to blow this defense away, they'll look like the Colts did. Just unbelievable loss tonight, but it is who this team is. Soft at the core. The last thing I want to hear from McVay is this was another "learning experience" - NO. It was a lackluster performance with a team that thinks is better than they are.

It has become just that - All roads lead to a soft approach and culture that comes from the HC. Defense is ignored in player procurement, poorly coached and mentally and physically weak. OL ignored when you feature a 37 year old pocket passer. Tonite was embarrassing- another game with no sacks or legit pressures.Rams are the weakest playoff team in the NFC as of today and will be mashed by a flawed but physically tough football team in Philly. Major changes needed by this FO - I will not hold my breath waiting for them to happen.

We signed Kam Curl, acquired Landman, Ford, and Witherspoon and drafted Fiske, V8, Young and Turner between 23-24. Where exactly is the neglect? Just curious.

Perfectly said.

The Rams have historically have always been a torture to watch. When you are a Rams fan it comes with name tag.

Only people teased were people NOT paying attention. Many board members called out areas of issue ALL season long. Now others are catching up. Can they recover? I don't actually know. The trend is downwards and that is NOT what you want. As a contrast Seattle and SF are PEAKING

Mcvay was supposed to change that . Thanks for the RING but that ring belongs more to AD than anyone else , including Staff and Mcvay . NO AD = no NFCCG win and no SB win.

Have to agree... I have been the biggest McVay supporter but man the dude can not close out. Not saying we replace him but perhaps rather than hire young coordinators he should get an older experienced dude to whisper in his ear particularly when momentum changes as McVay cannot pull it back for some reason.

I agree with the torture. Always has been. But this year is especially bad on the heart. I will disagree on McVay- I still think he's the best thing we have. We just don't have enough on the DL yet. Verse looked like a game changer player, but he's just not quite there. He's great- but needs to keep working at it. Fiske is a nobody basically this year. We need to shore up that DL. Get some better ILB help. And we all know the CB situation. Stafford window is closing...Hope we can get 1 more ring with him. We are an "any given Sunday" team. Can win or lose to anyone. Not up there with Seattle/Denver/Pats/9rs(puke)/Bears. More like TB/Lions/Philly/Bills type team.

As long as I can remember, this team will most always torture us. They dont close out games, and it doesn't matter who the play, its typically a one score game. Bad for my health.
I said in the game day chat that I dont trust this team any more. Far too many mental, and physical lapses. Dont get me wrong, they're still good enough to make a run, but going into Philly in cold weather could mean that they just get out-physicalled all over the field. The teams that match up to Philly are the teams that can punch them in the mouth. The Rams dont have that in their DNA, and Jalen Hurts season will be resurrected against the Rams soft approach.

In fairness, all teams have similar issues but man the Rams seem to melt down against inferior opponents.
On a positive side, we always play better as under dogs which will be the case going into the playoffs.

That is exactly correct. It was AD who closed out every playoff game leading up and including the Super Bowl.

No doubt about that. But, we never saw him drop into coverage like Verse and Young are being asked to. I get why; the weak secondary. But, to cover the weak secondary it makes more sense to bring constant pressure.

Except the Rams tease you by being inconsistently good. The Jets are just consistently bad.

I agree. would not compare Verse to AD however. AD replacement is KT. He and Fiske with Poona playing the Brockers/Robinson role. These guys got swallowed up last night. I agree bring the pressure, and Verse/Young were doing it all year...until....now? It may have much to do with OC on other teams just doing their homework. Or maybe Fiske just isn't that good, so the focus goes to KT and Verse/Young. Can't have all pro bowlers on the DL. And if they aren't effective, then your secondary better be solid. So that's our defense pretty much as I see it. we can't cover anyone- ILBs included- so when there's no push up front, we get picked apart. Never a coverage sack.
Stafford had coverage sacks last night. Nobody was open with the exception of the Ferguson TD. It was mind boggling seeing everyone covered tight. Every reception was contested. And that's the Falcons. Our guys really suck. And Puka without Kupp or DA, has a tough day. These other dudes just don't get open. I did really like the effort from Smith. He should be WR3 if Atwell sits. And WR2 without DA. And our TE crew is slow (but good) and were needed to help block last night. Ferguson was needed and will be needed as a weapon if DA misses more time. This is just my opinion.

Ramfan nicely stated. Smith was the highlight of the game, loved his energy. The missed throw late in 4th was killer. That was on Stafford.

Well said. We are soft. McVay makes poor decisions and our defense is weak. Our defense losing Donald is like the Patriots offense when they lost Brady. They have found their new Brady. When are we going to find our new AD?
