Does anyone still think we have a Super Bowl team?

I know we had a lot of injuries and there are a lot of important players who are banged up. I also know there are a lot of missed calls that have hurt us. But there is no excuse. SF has been missing players all year and they very well could win the west.
McVay's failure to draft quality linebackers and upgrade our secondary and running backs are going to be our demise. We still can't stop the run. Our linebackers can't cover the middle. Our DB's are awful. And our running backs don't have the speed to break off big runs.
Who cares if we win next week. It doesn't matter now. We might as well rest everyone because it looks like we are going to be playing in Philadelphia or Chicago in January and I don't think we are ready for either team.

I have no confidence in this team...in big games there is always one phase of the game that craps the bed...if more players had the heart and stones of Puka it would be different...most of the team is soft...

IMO not a legit SB threat and are trending downward as we speak. Far too many flaws on D .

The team has to get completely healthy to have a chance. I think the Rams can win any single road game. Stringing 3 of them together would be the challenge,
The path as a 6 is most likely:
At Philly
At SF
At Seattle/Bears

Reinforcements are on the way. They definitely have issues but it can be fixed. Just has to get hot starting wildcard weekends.

Expecting perfect health is idiotic. Trent Williams was hurt first series and SF still rolled.

We're a soft ass team. No way around it bro. We're soft as fuck and at this point, I'm tired of seeing it. Same old b.s. and nothing changes.

Honestly???
Yes I do.
Today's loss was the first time I've had doubts about this team. Admittedly.
But...
Oline will get healthier.
Lake coming back.
Adams.
At the end if the day I trust McVay and Stafford more than any other coach/QB in the NFC. Not saying its easy. But I still truly do think come playoffs we are the team to beat.

You are correct in that we do NOT get homeruns in the running game, but using THAT to say we have no running game is incorrect. Yes we could use a change of pace game braker ala Gibbs, but as we have seen the past few weeks, they can be stopped quite easily. KW is harder to stop over time and has a quite good yards per carry average.
I'll lean your way for the rest

How do you put DJ Humphries in to do a job he isn’t capable/prepared to do? Poor roster construction and coaching both on display here.

Rams aren’t terribly deep. Still. Their offense has compensated for their defense.

To be fair .. we have a LOT of money tied up in one position and shit ton of decisions coming up, so things can definitely get worse

Not.

I think the Rams are still quite capable of going to the Super Bowl and winning. This is the first time they have been blown out in the first half and had to fight like hell in the second half to come back….and they did, even with several key injuries. To me, they showed some heart tonight. With our O line healthy and Adams healthy, we win tonight easily, even with the defensive problems. Having Q back will help that issue somewhat. My money is still on the Rams.

It could happen, and that would be a treat, but they still need to show that they can play four strong quarters of football. They’ve only done that a few times this season. It’s very hard to have faith. At least special teams showed improvement tonight.

Yes, 3 starting OL out and we felt the loss of Adams, Lake, and Higbee. We will have all of those guys back for the playoffs and this will be a different team.

Sorry I just don't see it. They are 5 and 4 on the road. If you punch this team in the face they wilt. The DC is in over his head...the last two weeks they have been a disaster, they have no momentum going into the playoffs. Arizona will probably give them a game...

Hard to see it. But as I said on another thread- we are def an "any given Sunday" team. Hopefully we get everyone back. It's a different team without DA, AJ, QL, KD......and we were 1 overthrown ball away from stealing this one. MVP makes that throw. Damn. that was the game- woulda been amazing.
And please get Atwell in there over Mumphield/Whit. He's better. That was PI on the deep pass too...woulda at least tied it to OT. Refs will continue to hurt Puka and Co. Yes I am making some excuses for the loss...I know we played like dogshit and deserved to lose. But man we had our chances in the end.

I don't think he has broken the 100 yard mark this season. Sure he's a hard runner and has a way of finding the seam but he can't break one off and go to the house. What I want is a RB who when he hits the open field nobody can catch him. None of our starting backs have that juice. KW had one play where he had open field in front of him and was caught from behind. We need a RB with speed to compliment what we have. Not two running backs who are virtually the same.

We have lulled the NFL to sleep; now the Mighty Rams will pounce.
Smash Arizona.

BK hit the nail on the head. Mcvay and team are playing three dimensional chess. The team falling apart is part of a greater plan going into the playoffs. Teams will take the Rams for granted. Can you say "WINNING."
