Despite all the talk about this guy from Jake Ellenbogan, Akello Whitterspoon is as awful of a Rams cornerback that I've seen in my 48 years of supporting this team. He's too slow and he bites on the first move any WR gives him. From the moment he came back from the Panthers game, our secondary has been shit when hes been on the field....And no, I'm not finished, Emmanuel Forbes is worst CB 1b behind Whitterspoon.

We need to spend big $$ next season and bring in one top notch CB's in here and draft one with one of those two 1st round draft picks.

excuse me, I'm wondering, if some of the soft fucking never-ending homers on this board are are OK, with me expressing dissatisfaction with some of the off-season moves about the cornerback position at this particular stage in the season???

is it fucking appropriate now to be concerned that we did absolutely fucking nothing in the off-season about our several years of shit cornerback position??

I am concerned in the playoffs our CBs will be the reason why we don't advance. Ahkello had a nice int., but that's about it. The defense has been putting a ton of pressure on Arizona but somehow we cant get a simple bat a ball down.

you're right Malibu but even Witherspoon's interception was the result of an underthrown ball he was beat if the ball was thrown in the right spot, Wilson has been roasting these fucking cornerbacks all game, we are going to get fucking beaten to death in the playoffs because this is a major weakness that can't be overlooked and everybody knows it now, the only saving grace is we can rush the passer if teams could throw deep on us regularly we would get pounded

I was sticking up for Spoon too, he let me down today. He sucks too.

been talking about this all year. have no idea why they didn't address this last year. Hopefully they will address this in FA and early in the draft

why did we not go for that Diggs from Dallas, pro bowler, he had 11 picks in 1 year, yes some injury, but Packers sure wanted him.. I mean what did we have to lose?

Despite the win….criticism of the makeup and performance of our back end and linebackers to some extent is completely warranted! They’ve had 2 off seasons to address the cornerback situation and still neglected to do it! And yes, soft defense is McVay’s philosophy.

Forbes was decent today. He didn't get all the reps. Looks like they were giving all the DBs a chance to play in hopes of finding somebody worth starting

As I said in the game thread, D did end on high note, stopping the cards from scoring late td.

Cowboy fans says Diggs is horrible in coverage, so I'm not sure if he is a upgrade. ... Then again..

increase the pass rush to mitigate the poor play in the secondary

Great point.

It’s really lame that the Rams secondary can seemingly be outrun pretty easily by opponents, as Carolina really showed in late Nov. I worry that we’ll just see opponents go long and be successful. My hope is that when Lake is out there again next week that the secondary will tighten up and the tackling will also improve. Maybe Wallace will be back, and maybe McCreary will be more effective.

Every Dback in the league sucks if a QB has 5+ seconds to throw. The defense definitely has kinks. The good teams will exploit the shit outta those kinks.

This is the argument. Is it defensive line (pressure looked good against cardinals), is it secondary (looked extremely soft against cardinals), is it coaching?

Agreed. I was just about to post on how poor our CB play was today. And Jake Ellenbogan is a complete idiot. I know he's got the in but he's proven to me many times that he doesn't know jack about football. I stopped watching him a long time ago.

I'm guessing partly because of health issues with the wheels

The Rams should absolutely draft two CB’s in the 1’st round. I saw one mock that showed us drafting SDSU CB with second pick in round 1. He was a Jim Thorp finalist and did not give up one TD all season. I would grab the LSU CB with our 1st pick in round 1.

Other than Curl and Lake, all useless and need a complete reset.

I will concede that Ahkello sucked yesterday, but I am not understanding the Forbes hate after the past couple of games. Is there a more difficult position to play in any sport? I have to say that our safetys are rather slow.

Ahkello just sucks at two very important aspects of a CB's game..tackling and covering a WR. Other than that I'm sure he's a fine individual.

McVay likes undersized cornerbacks who are slow, afraid to tackle and can’t guard receivers.

Mcvay loved Ramsey who isn't any of those things. Corners that are big, fast and can cover and tackle are expensive and hard to find
