Landman/Speights/Lake

Post by GoldenRam »

doing yeoman like work for the D 11 tackles each, throw in 7 more for Curl, that's more than half the tackles for the team. Held the run game in check again, now 9 games in and not one breakaway run, still nothing over 19 yards. longest on the day was 13. The inside of the D looks pretty damn solid

Landman is a beast, best linebacker we've had since London Fletcher

Great post that is spot on - I would add that Landman & Lake seem to me to be the Leaders of our D unit both spiritually and between the lines.

MIssed something, apparently I missed the Rams giving up a 20 yarder. Stats now show 1 given up. I don't recall that, unless it came late today ..

Absolute beast. We need to re-sign this guy quick. He fits good in this defense and he's a keeper. I still think we need to find another linebacker to put beside him. Someone who can cover TE's across the middle. Speights and Dolac are two UDFA's who would make awesome depth pieces.

Not to bum everybody out but Landman, Lake and Curl are all pending FA's. That in and of itself is not insurmountable until you look down the road at Puka, Kobie, Byron Young, Verse and Fiske. They need to do some serious number crunching, prioritising and planning. We have 10 picks in the draft and can plug some holes there but there's no way to keep everybody.
