Don't wish anyone getting hurt, but this is great for our D. He has been a very weak link. Others are better....and that ain't saying much.

IMO, when this off season hits.. if the Rams do not blow up this entire DB group, and start fresh... it's football malpractice. I intend to keep a close eye on this group this offseason.

TWO things killed us and kept us from being in Sofi this wkend for our first play-off game... but now, the reality is, the Rams, in their second playoff game (and barely got that win in NC, too boot), a warm weathered team has to deal w a minus 9 degree wind chill.

1. The DB group fell apart and were exposed. All this time, we were getting mad at Shula for being too soft and 20 yards off the WR's, but what we didnt realize till a few weeks ago, is that this was Shula's only real option. WHY? Because this group sucks so badly, it was his only choice OR things would go from awful bad, to even worse (if this is even possible). Think about this for a minute. Sure, you can argue this... but my eyes do not lie.

2. Letting McVay keep his pal on ST's too damn long. I mean, it was like a train heading for sure destruction off a cliff... we start seeing personal and people on the train jump off, but McVay just kept this train going w Chase conducting it... we all saw its sure demise, but Sean refused to make changes, until it was too late. Finally the train derailed, and went off the cliff... and unfortunately, the change was made AFTER the wreck.

We need to do better. Especially in 2026. We as fans need to hold McVay and Co to task on this. We cannot allow another off season where we know we are weak already to keep going, ESPECIALLY if we only have Stafford for one more season.... McVay used this same recipe for the OL group, as it was not too long ago, we all hated the OL group as much as our current DB group, and somehow, they made it work eventually on the OL... but, there has been none of that for the DB group, and now we are paying for it, dearly.

I mean, think about this guys... JUST IMAGINE IF, we had a competent ST coach, no one great, but a coach that saw flaws and didnt try to make excuses or band aid them... just a competent average ST coach is all we needed. ALSO, image in our last draft if we bumped up and got a shut down corner... and also, maybe worked out a trade before the deadline. Sure, the market was thin, but anything is better than our DB group, right?. RIGHT. NOW, imagine if we took the $10M we gave Tutu and used that for a corner, or safety... etc...

I know, hindsight can be a real snatch, BUT, this is exactly why we all need to keep McVay accountable this off season. Like picket camps and Rama practices... pitch forks and knives people. 🤣

Was listening to Demarco Farr this morning. He is just ok with me…………

He was asked this morning about spoon being out. He said:

“ Listen I like spoon. I like his dad a lot. I like Durant and I like Forbes. But none of them are a big loss right now. These corners are not good. That isnt changing come this Sunday or the rest of the playoffs. The corners on this team are bad. And we are getting good pressure from the front. Don’t believe me go watch film. Pressure is there and the corners are still bad. It isnt changing. You are not sacking the QB on every pass.”

He went on to say every team left is flawed. There is that word again. This time of year you win with what you do good, TO’s you get n don’t give, don’t get penalized, make your FG’s, n score in RZ TD’s…………….

Not once did he mention it is a scheme issue. Again someone who I think we will all agree is very pro this team said corners are bad and that isnt changing………….

Saw a lot of shut down secondaries this weekend. Gonzalez on NE. Q Mitchell. Give me one of those. Thanks. Would be transformative for this team.

inadequate special teams was our biggest down fall all season, absolutely inexcusable from the top down, we know we have secondary issues among other things

but we did not lose a single game because of our defense

Philly - settling for way too many field goals, held Philly to like 20'something yards on 20-30 plays at the point they were up 26-7 in the 3rd, offense completely disappeared and we had 2 game winning field goals blocked (lost by 1 basically) - special teams loss and offense went missing

SF, we fumbled twice giving them an easy scoring drive and one was us crossing the goal line for 7 missed points, we also missed a FG and turned the ball over on downs in the red zone on offense in OT because we can't convert 1 yard - offensive turnovers and can't convert a yard and special teams (lost by 3)

Carolina - 2 interceptions by Stafford , 1 returned for a TD, 1 in the red zone, Stafford fumbling the ball in game tying FG range, sure defense gave up 3 bomb td's (3rd long and 2 4th downs) - offensive turnovers (lost by 3)

Seattle round 2 - punt return for td, missed game winning FG, up 30-16 with 8 minutes left and the offense completely goes inept and disappears, has a first down at midfield at the end of the game and completely stalls (only needed a first down or 2 for FG range, and gave Seattle ball back with time to get a game winning FG, horrible missed opportunity and time management) - special teams loss and offense fell off the map for the entire 4th quarter (lost by 1)

Atlanta loss - pick six, pick in the red zone, 90 yard run given up, missed wide open td pass and missed PI no call - offensive turnovers and missed throws and 1 bad run given up (lost by 3)

most recent Playoff Carolina game - interception, and basically a blocked punt TD.

our D is not perfect but every loss is because of our offense either disappearing completely or turning the ball over, or complete special teams breakdowns. I would not put a single loss on the defense, just stats and facts

Good post. Very real and actually sobering. Definitely need to draft defensive heavy in round two and three. No excuses. No more drafting a running back early.

In terms of off-season there needs to be cbs in FA I saw a list it looked bad. There there are some in the draft but losing to ATL didn't help matters the top CB Mansoor is projected off the board before we draft and no site has hi. A stone cold lock.

I would love to be in the room when they do their pre-draft talks because I think McVay has more power in that room then we think. Or should I say he persuades Snead more than we think. Because I think they are very good with personnel moves but I can't think for the life of me why both of them thought it was ok to ignore the secondary in the offseason last year. No way in hell could they think they had a good group.
