Offseason underway
First moves ..
Max Muncy option picked up at $10M. Saw on a youtube segment, he had a 3.6 WAR and the price on a player with 1 WAR is in the 7 to 8 million dollar range. So they bring him back at somewhat a bargain. 1 year, likely his last, unless he suddenly does something crazy
Vesia back at $3.55M. Good move I think.
Add LF Ryan Ward from OKC to 40 man. Showing power there, but not likely to translate to pros. Average nothing special, same with OBP. Doesn't walk a lot, SO's not bad in OKC, but let's face it, MLB is not OKC and those numbers are most likely going to jump a good bit
Outrighted CF Justin Dean to OKC, and he was picked up by SF Giants off waivers
P Michael Grove outrighted to OKC
P Tony Gonsolin DFA'd
Picked up LHP Robinson Ortiz from OKC. Doesn't look like anything special, middle relief vibes maybe. First guy up in a BP game
No big moves obviously.
Lot of fans calling for Belli, Tucker, and Bichette. Belli bad OPS and low numbers outside Yankee Stadium. Doubt they revisit him unless they get desperate for a move down the road.
Tucker from the Cubs is looking for 10/$400M. Don't see him worth that deal
Bichette looking for something in at least the same range as Tucker. Don't see him leaving his Significant friend Vladdy and don't see the Dodgers paying this price for him either.
Skubal is going to be a focus I think. Mostly quietly behind the scenes I would guess, but I think the Dodgers would really like to grab him this offseason. Would need to be a trade, Dodgers could offer any or all off Gonsolin, Grove, Sheehan, Stone, one of the backup C's, maybe something out of the farm, if there is anything worth it. SKubal is good, but if you're Detroit is he worth more than 2 or 3 pitchers? Sheehan and Stone have had some success as has Gonsolin (though he's pretty much damaged goods at this point) but 2 or 3 rotation pitchers, maybe throw Casperius in there since he's a hard thrower. Might be enough to get a conversation. I'd like to hang onto Stone, but it could be a crowded rotation for the Dodgers and he would likely be odd man out anyway
I'm hearing the guy from Japan is not all that defensively, though likely better than Muncy and that picking up Muncy's option impacts that move. It might, it could, but again, they could choose to move Muncy back to 2B and open up third. I've heard one Dodger analyst say he's basically a DH. If that's true, we sort of, kind of, already HAVE one of those, and I don't think we're switching up on that

I get the Muncy and Vesia moves
Grove will still be in rehab for at least half the season
Sheehan and Stone should be in their future
Dean...no big deal
#1 Priority in the offseason should be Bichette....stud is a complete stud and this would move Mookie back to RF where he belongs.
Skubal is my favorite pitcher besides Yamamoto but it would take a truck load to get him...I just do not see it happening
Tucker.....FUCK NO.....Word on the street is this guy does not love baseball, Rendon all over again. Please Friedman stay the fuck away from him
The big guy from Japan is a DH and nothing more. He is good though
what about the pitcher from Japan, do not know his name....Supposed to be a total stud

Re: Offseason underway
The problem with both Sheehan and Stone is they are starters, which we have a boatload of right now. If they are part of a package that would bring back Skubal, I'd run it. Same if they could bring back a very good bat.ocram23 wrote: ↑November 6th, 2025, 5:22 pmSurprising about Gosolin...that tells me he is damaged goods and they are tired of waitingGoldenRam wrote: ↑November 6th, 2025, 3:53 pm First moves ..

Bichette I just don't see him leaving Vladdy. Would like a higher OBP and OPS+ and more walks. I'm not sure he is gong to worth the contract he gets, especially playing half his games in a pitchers park like Dodger Stadium, but he would likely be worth more right now than Betts is. He does get hits, so plugging him into the number two slot between Ohtani and Freeman would be interesting. I just don't see him leaving Toronto, I think they pay pretty much whatever he wants, within reason. After losing the Series, I don't see them losing Bichette as well
Don't know a lot about Tucker's motivation, he's been a solid hitter, though unspectacular, he just doesn't scream 10/$400M to me fairly good OBP and good OPS+, very good career OPS. If they had to take a chance on him I would not do 10 years and not above $25M . I see he got a $22M QO from the Cubs. Also, he's played half his games each year in Houston and Chicago, which are hitters parks .. He also takes a bit hit in the postseason
I think there are teams that can offer more now than we can for international players, I think we had to make some moves to get enough to offer Roki last season, so not sure how much a player we can be for anyone from Japan this season.
Players can officially start signing tomorrow I believe, so things could get interesting pretty quick, especially with teams trying to get in position to dethrone the Dodgers
I would definitely kick the tires on Edwin Diaz

I would definitely kick the tires on Edwin Diaz
Gratural is coming back next year so he will help
Wrobeski proved in post season he is the future from the left side.
Treinen was just downright awful so not sure what to do with him.
Klein....bring him back
Starting pitchers
I agree with you on Sheehan and Stone but they are going to need both of them next yr. Glasnow is never healthy nor is Snell so count them to be on IR next year for a good part of the season.
Skubal....it will take an absolute truckload to get him so I don't see them going after him
Bichette...no idea what is in his head but the dude can flat out hit so I would still go after him
Roki needs to come back and prove to me he can handle the spotlight because I was not sold on him this yr.

Re: Offseason underway
ESPN online has an article projecting contracts for FA. They have Bichette at 5/130 and Edwin Diaz at 4/60, I would definitely kick the tires at anything around that range ... OF however is a meager table setting. Not a lot of real talent in there. Might be better served looking into trade possibilities there.
Arraez would be cheaper and good from a hitting standpoint, but apparently not the best defensive 2B around.

they need to give Kim a chance at 2b IMO. he is amazing defensively but needs time hitting. 100% going after Bichette or at least IMO they should.
Not sold on Diaz, isn't he coming of TJ?
I think they need to look at the farm system and see if there are a couple of guys that can help next yr

The issue is they need a closer NOW. Diaz had a 1.63 ERA and 28 saves last season. Don't really see a problem. Kim should have had the opportunity this past season, and right now, while they do need defense. hitting CANNOT take a back seat. We are not going to win many more titles hitting sub .210 in the WS and not able to get on base. We have to start trotting some guys out to the plate that actually know how to USE the bat in their hands and can make contact.
That may have turned the series for us, when Toronto, the "contact" team, struck out 12 times to our 5.
I think our farm system is being vastly overrated. We bring up position guys who can't hit and pitchers who throw kerosine onto fires instead of water. Some of the starters do ok, but the relievers all seem to suck.
Also counting on Graterol is sheer folly. This guy CANNOT get and stay healthy. Every season it's something new and he misses significant time. Personally, I'd move on from him sooner than later. A hard thrower who can't make it to the mount isn't of much use. Shoulder injury in 23, played 7 games in 24 and missed all of 2025. How exactly are we counting on him?
I sure as well don't want to be the Yankme's with offensive and errors abounding .. but we NEED guys who can hit the damn ball, other than 2 or 3 at the top and nobody else. I think they give Pages one more year, or at least the start of one more, to prove himself, but how much is that postseason going to mess with his head? "I don't ALWAYS hit .080 in the postseason, but when I do, I save it with my legs and glove" That postseason may be one of the all time worst in history. I question however, how many guys they are willing to sign, and how much outfield turnover they are willing to absorb. So I think they look for a LF with some bop, though I'd be happier with a line drive hitter with pop who would maybe get on base while driving in guys, move dudes around the bases some more. It's nice to have the 3 runners, and I would like to see more of them, but mostly those guys are literally hit or miss and they tend to miss more than they hit. Not a lot of Ohtani and Judge players out there.
Still think we are LF/2B or 3B/Closer/maybe 1 more RP/SP if something falls in our laps. IF they could fill both 2B and 3B cheaply enough, they might go that way, but the fact that their first move was to pick up Muncy's option tells me they are looking at him as a core piece for one more season. I think they looked at the record with/without him in the lineup and decided he was important enough to keep in, which is why I think they only look for one. IF they are serious with Kim, they take INF off their list entirely, unless someone is seriously thinking about Bichette
On a related note .. how would you like to be Trea Turner right now. Mr. I'm an East Coast guy who jumped to the Phillies and has seen his former team win the title the last two seasons. They may lose their big bat as well in Schwarber. Too bad the dude can't play LF. Need a bandaid for that ouchie there Trea??

Re: Offseason underway
Arraez is growing on me at 2B .. career .317 hitter OBP .363, decent, his OPS is below league average, which is not good and while he doesn't walk a lot, he strikes out LESS. career 230 walks 215 SO. That's a bat we could definitely use high up in the order. Plays SS, 2B, 1B, 3B though he doesn't have the pop to be a corner infielder, though he fields well there. He's had .992 and .993 seasons at 2B, last season was .986, but he played 117 games at first with a .999. I'd take a .992 fielder at 2B who hits like he does without the SO. Ideally I'd hit him 1 and Ohtani 2, but
Ohtani
Arraez
Freeman
is not a bad top of the order
Ohtani
Arraez
Freeman
is not a bad top of the order

Is Diaz the same after TJ injury? going to be expensive
Bichette is a stud go get him....top 5 best hitter in MLB

Re: Offseason underway
Diaz seems fine. His BA against, OPS, SLG and OBP against are all at pre injury levels, 28 saves, 3 blown saves 98 K's in 66 1/3.
Graterol will help and yes he needs to stay healthy
Is Diaz the same after TJ injury? going to be expensive
Bichette is a stud go get him....top 5 best hitter in MLB
stay away from Tucker and Bellinger
I've seen 4/60 projected, I'd certainly pay that, though admittedly, it isn't MY money. If there is someone better we can get great .. but we need someone who goes out that we don't automatically call it 50/50 we get the save
I think Tucker's numbers are a product of playing in Seattle and Wrigley. I don't think those numbers translate to Dodger Stadium, so I'm with you there.
Bichette, I hate to say it, 1. I don't think he leaves Toronto, and 2. I think the Dodgers front office defers to Mookie here and gives him another year to get his act together. I think they are going to be a little bit blinded by the success, even though they should not be

Re: Offseason underway
shit we forgot to talk about Tanner Scott. WTH do they do with him? they owe him like $75M....he is coming backGoldenRam wrote: ↑November 7th, 2025, 9:36 pmDiaz seems fine. His BA against, OPS, SLG and OBP against are all at pre injury levels, 28 saves, 3 blown saves 98 K's in 66 1/3. Re: Offseason underway
I know what I'D like to do with him, and bringing him back is NOT on the list. Guy who blows 10 saves has very little value to meocram23 wrote: ↑November 7th, 2025, 10:29 pmshit we forgot to talk about Tanner Scott.
