crazy-legs wrote: April 24th, 2025, 9:00 pm I look at it two ways. Besides Campbell, I wasn't thinking oh we need to draft player X. We're still in great position with our second round pick...

That trade IMO was all about 2026. Instead of having to make a crazy trade to move up we can now package the 2 first round picks next year and perhaps our 2027 1st or 2nd round pick to move up and get a QB...

Bottom line IMO. It doesn't hurt us this year but gives us a ton of capitol for next year. I grade the trade a solid A+...

How about this. Atlanta sucks next year, finish with a top 5 pick, and they don't have to package both 1s for a QB?

Here we go again. I couldn't wait for this draft to come, and now I'm already counting the days for the 26 draft. I guess I need to get a few hobbies or something!!
I like how you think...

Obviously I want Atlanta to suck next year. Would be freaking awesome. If by chance they\we had the 5th pick and we won the SB we could package those picks with a 4th round pick and move up to get the #1 pick. I'm hoping for the best but even if we have their 15th pick and we package our 32nd pick plus a pick later (3rd or 4th round) or even our #1 in 2026 I'd make the move in a heartbeat to get the best QB on the board...

Again - I rate the trade A+...
Judge our new coach in his third year. After all our last coach was to game strategy what Yoko Ono was to the Beatles...

Rams made out like bandits. They are in the running for any QB next year because they can trade both firsts and potentially a 3rd first from 2027.

Who was the impact player we missed at 26?
I think it's Jihaad Campbell. We really need an ILB. Hopefully we use one of our next picks on one. I like the extra first next year but if we are going to the big dance this year we have be be able to cover TE's across the middle and we have to be able to stop the run. Campbell was most likely the best ILB in this draft. Only time will tell.

For starters, I can think of at least two; Jihaad Campbell (Philly) and Malaki Starks (Baltimore)...both could be pro-bowlers and filled a need. I understand they could also be a flop with the 50% success ratio of each player in the 1st round. That percentage gets worse the by the time 46 rolls around.

I agree with you. If Rams are in win now, get an impact player. Howie Roseman said they picked Campbell because he was top 11 talent that you can't pass on. The QB everybody is suggesting the picks are for next year could be a flop too.

“ If Rams are in win now”

They are. But that win now is the next 5-7 years not this one year.

This is a young talented team other than at the most important position as far as age. This team gets its next QB after Stafford this “now” is going to be more than a year. This trade puts them in a position to do so. Either by drafting a top tier potential QB or trading for one. You need the additional first round picks to do so most of the time.

We gave up what a potential good position player at 26 instead of setting ourselves up to address the most important position. Damn good trade off where I sit. Fact is this team could stay as is currently for 25 and still be favored to win the division. Fact is this team with really no one lost off of last year’s roster came within a play in a blizzard of going to the NFC Championship game at home. Yep I know Barkley. But we were not the only team he did that against last year and we still was an offensive play in the RZ of winning that game.

he was but now the reports are that his other shoulder may need to be operated on. Philly has the luxury of letting him mend this season the Rams didn't. Yes he is a very good player but they passed on him due to the injuries. I wonder if Matthew Golden would have been their pick if he was there
