Anyone have any insight on this pick? It's a head scratcher for me - not saying it's a bad pick - just didn't see it coming....am worried they're thinking he can be an ILB/EDGE....for some reason I am remembering Adam Carriker - a 3-4 DE that Spagnuolo tried to convert to NT....didn't go well....I realize McVay is not Spags but still...

I saw this as a depth/rotation signing... I have no problem with it....

In todays salary cap NFL, its hard to get a great pass rush and amazing DBs at the same time. Looks like they have taken a stance.

I agree this is all about adding depth to the DL. Bummed because we had Starks and Hairston and we traded out

He is a edge/olb. Rams plan is for him to take Hoecht reps.

That was Rams head coach Scott Linehan back in 2007, and it certainly didn't work.

Hopefully Josiah Stewart can successfully transition to ILB, which is where our team is weak on "D"... :? ;) :geek:

Michigan fan here.......Stewart has a motor that never stops. He absolutely will not be an ILB. He adds depth off the edge.

I watched some video of him today...he strikes me as a smaller Verse. Quick with power...only in a smaller package.
Good pick IMO.

That's a shame. With his speed and power, he could possibly be an every down playmaker.

I'm more bummed that we missed out on Jihaad Campbell. He's going to be a monster in Philly

we don't have the luxury of letting him heal for half the yr like Philly does. he is going to be good I agree

Yes, it was, although Scott Linehan (2006) and Steve Spagnuolo ('10) each managed one season of semi-respectable football as our team's head coach.

Anyway, the Rams have acquired rookie ILBs Chris Paul, Jr. and Shaun Dolac, so Josiah Stewart will obviously remain as an edge rusher in the NFL, his pass-pressure potential will be needed by our team... :? ;) :geek:
