The Rams are now the 3rd most valuable team in the world.

Post by GlendoraRam »

This is the reason for the move back to L.A.
According to Forbes, the Rams are now the third-most valuable sports team anywhere in the world. Their current valuation is $7.6 billion, behind only the Dallas Cowboys ($10.1 billion) and Golden State Warriors ($8.8 billion). They even overtook the New York Yankees, who are worth $7.55 billion after a 6% one-year increase compared to the Rams’ 10% growth.

It's all good for Stan. His teams have recently won a SB, Lacrosse title, Soccer titles and a Stanley Cup. And now his Rams are the 3rd highest. I wonder where his Arsenal Gunners are on the list...

He hasn't made the same type of investment in Arsenal... If you look at the champions league final.. PSG are sponsored by the Qataris... at one point they had 2 if the 3 best players in the world playing for them... Emirates stadium is nothing special either.

Football is dominated by the big clubs Real Madrid, Man United, Barcelona... they are institutions.

Arsenal can put up good teams but just don't spend like the other clubs.

Liverpool (6) is tied for 3rd All-Time with Bayern ahead of Barcelona(5) and Man U (3), behind Real Madrid (15) and Milan (7) in CL titles all time. They'll spend for the World Class player and have been in the CL often and know how it works. They are just as big as any of them except perhaps RM based on appearances.. The Reds are also 4th with 10 Finals Appearances losing 4 times. They've been in 3 of the last 6 of which they won 1. RM has been in and won 5 of the last 11 Finals and are currently on a 9 Finals winning streak dating back to 1998. The Last Time they lost in the Final was 1981.

From Wikpedia.. English teams were banned from the competition for five years following the Heysel disaster in 1985
Spain has provided the most champions, with twenty wins from two clubs. England have produced fifteen winners from
a record six clubs and Italy have produced twelve winners from three clubs.

Don't get why you don't acknowledge any other English side but Man U when they have not had the most success, been in the final only 5 times and not since 2011? Research over opinion!

I was purely talking about finances... ofcourse Liverpool are up but there.. You could argue Man City has been the best performing team in Europe in the last decade as well.. But there are some really big heavy hitting teams on the financial front with some serious backing in Europe.

Man City has 1 CL title in 2 trips to the Final, both recently.... in their history... Not so dominant, but I will grant they spend on big name transfers. Villa and Spurs both just spent how much on New Stadiums?... Everton too. That seat how many? and will generate larger revenue to spend on what? Not just winning the PL.
Meanwhile Man U finished 15th and Spurs 17th and it seems are no threat for CL in the near future, but we'll see... they do have the $$$ now and can turn it around fast.. as we've seen from both of them before but especially MU!

On a sporting front i agree with you... Man U are closer to relegation than winning anything. I don't know much about Everton in fairness.

Financially though, if you travel around Asia, Man U, Real Madrid and Barca are kings... jerseys everywhere and playing their games in any restaurant.... they are merch galacticos.. its why they are at the top of the financial league and why they draw those crazy shirt sponsorship deals... I'm just not sure how long Man U can keep this up while playing so poorly.

So is Soccer suddenly a bigger thing in Asia than it is in Europe? I don't think so. Which Asian country are you from? I hate to break it to you but that is not "the world" as you suggested in your opening statement. It's just Asia and like with everything else, there's a market there for local made "cheap" back manufactured copies of the more authentic jersey's we buy in the Western countries.
Look at attendance/viewership data for Asian soccer games/leagues and there isn't much of either to speak of.
Even the SB, there's little interest for it in Asia yet the NFL is still the highest grossing/Valued league in the world.
I think you blew your argument promoting Asia as some sort of leader of anything in the soccer world here.

I don't live in Asia but travel here a lot.. .at the moment i am in Vietnam but travel back on Friday.... they idolise European soccer here... Ronaldo, Mbappe, Bellingham, Vinicius, Yamal and messi shirts everywhere (hard to go out and not see an interMiaimi pink shirt)... huge betting culture on it and always on a TV in any bar or restaurant.. Way too hot to play much of anything outside so main sports are things like table tennis and badminton as far as i can tell... You never see NFL but occasionally see some NBA. I suspect (would need to look it up) that NFL revenue is 80% generated in the US. I've seen the Rams in London once many years ago (against Bengals) and it was a weird atmosphere.. more like a general NFL fan fest than support for any one team. RAms won so i was happy.
