Reality
I think Dodger Nation needs to realize the Wild Card is what we are looking at. The bullpen is completely gassed, they can't hit and their defense is suspect. Anything else that needs to be said?
Oh yeah I have one more move Mookie back to RF. this guy can't hit a ball anymore. I looked up his contract and it's an albatross. We are in trouble with him

Re: Reality
Yeah .. they are in freefall right now .. when they get a little pitching, they don't hit. When they get a little hitting, they don't pitch, and I keep looking at those OBP numbers in the lineup .. these guys just don't know how to get on base. It's ridiculous to have middle lineup guys with OBP UNDER .300. Jeeze .. take a WALK now and then.
Mookie probably should go back to the OF, Teoscar will be there because he supposedly has power and he drives in some runs, Pages is solid, but Edman ain't doing much and the guy they got at the deadline can't even break the lineup.
The real question I guess is who the hell plays short if we move Mookie? Kike? Wouldn't call that a better option. Does Kim play SS?

I'll go with Kim because I hardly see that either of the others is any more useful than Betts at the plate.

Re: Reality
have no idea why the Dodgers let Mookie dictate where he wants to play. he is the best RF in MLB...keep him there

Re: Reality
Likely figured they could get another solid bat in the lineup .. problem is, they HAVE no other solid bats and they did NOTHING to acquire one at the deadline. Look at the kid they brought up for Muncy, got nothing.
The Dodgers BADLY mismanaged the trade deadline, and they are looking at a situation where they are REALLY relying on a 38 year old pitcher with health issue history in recent seasons. The guy who didn't even pitch the first 3 months is now second on the team with 7 wins among starters and what *2* wins behind the guy leading.
I STILL don't understand how they have a 40/50 HR guy hitting LEADOFF

the idea is to have your best hitter get the highest number of at bats on the team i.e. Ohtani.GoldenRam wrote: ↑August 18th, 2025, 4:10 pm Likely figured they could get another solid bat in the lineup .. problem is, they HAVE no other solid bats and they did NOTHING to acquire one at the deadline. Funny how the best pitcher this year has been Kershaw. How ironic is that?

Re: Reality
which makes less sense when the guy is a bopper and hits in the area of the lineup with fewer RBI chances. See Yankees and Judge. The old model was smarter, your BEST hitter hit THIRD, where the opportunity for run production was betterocram23 wrote: ↑August 18th, 2025, 8:24 pmthe idea is to have your best hitter get the highest number of at bats on the team i.e. Ohtani.GoldenRam wrote: ↑August 18th, 2025, 4:10 pm Likely figured they could get another solid bat in the lineup .. problem is, they HAVE no other solid bats and they did NOTHING to acquire one at the deadline.
