The dyslexic RAMS…

Post by DelMar »

Riddle me this…

The first two games we absolutely sucked in the first half, then win the games in the second half.

This game we absolutely were tremendous in the first half, then fell apart in the second half (and fell apart is an understatement, more like a massive dump show)

Sounds to me like the Rams just need to put together a complete game and stop all this half ass bull$hit.

The GOOD NEWS is, I honestly believe that we will become a four quarter team. Last season it took us six games to get going…. This year we have it figured out, but only for one half. So, sounds to me like McVay, Shula and Blackburn better figure out how to lead this team ALL FOUR QTRS.

Trust the process, even if our coaches don’t seem to do this…Rams beat themselves today. Bottomline

We figure this riddle out, lights out. Rams proved today this damn team is a CONTENDER.

Agree. Nobody wins em all.....

Had this team as a Superbowl threat before the year started. I've seen nothing to change my mind. This is a really good team all around.

Glad you see it.

We have what it takes finally again… now if we can just get out of our own way…

Lights out Helly! No joke. Rams will roll. I actually think we beat the Colts by at least 14 next week.

BOOK IT!

I disagree that we were "tremendous" in the first half. Tremendous would have been TD's not FG's, down deep. KW and Corum were running well, should have spent more time just pounding with them. The Rams still lack that BIG target down deep and it shows in games like this. They need a "jumpballer" that can win

The D was very good, but couldn't sustain it

Rams aren’t good enough offensively. They leave way too many points on board. Didn’t get away with it today.

It is understandable ( but not acceptable) to lose focus and intensity when you build a large lead. It is human nature to relax after " accomplishing" something. That is why we see so Manu comebacks uns sports. What I can't explain is why we need to suck for the entire first half before starting to play good ball ( happened in the first 2 games)

The red zone inneeficiency has been an issue forever now. We move the ball and have to settle for fgs. It has been like that for at least 2 -3 years now. It was like that for the entire first half of the season last year. We improved in the last 8-9 games.

Tremendous is probably not the right word, you’re correct… it was good. Think I was a bit emotional in my earlier post.

I mean Puka is about as big as a WR gets. The dude has the frame of a TE. I just dont think we run a effective redzone offense. Both McVay and Stafford seem to struggle down there.

Yeah, Stafford makes a lot of suspect throws down there .. I think Kupp made him look better than he is down there at times. Would like to have seem someone like Ferguson down there. Puka is still only 6'2" I think, Whit is what 6'4", maybe give him a jump ball down there. We don't seem very good at things like the fade

Well, the defense WAS tremendous in the first half plus the first series of the second half. Had the rush penalties been called, they might have even prevented that horrible opening turnover->touchdown. The offense deserves lots of credit for moving the ball so well in first half after the opening interception.

But the Rams’ red zone lameness needs to change. It should have been at least 27-7 at the half. When will they have a killer mentality for four quarters? Why do they still go soft?

If the run is working and in rhythm you can be sure that once in the red-zone McVay will abandon it. This happens over and over again. It seems that the majority of the passes this year are deep-set drops no quick hitters especially in the red one. The hurry-up element to the offense has been non-existent. Stafford in the first half had plenty of time but just failed to find the open guy and pull the trigger. And yes I live for the day when we have a mobile QB...and NO I'm not a McVay or Stafford hater...

He is 10 years in, that could be the case, but career wise he hauls in 63% of his targets. As a counterpoint, Kupp is 71%. I don't know if it's drops, poor passes, though he spent years with Rodgers throwing him the ball or what, he needs to be better. This year he's hauled in 13 of 29. Hopefully growing pains between him and Staff, but it needs to be fixed. Get into the RZ, need quicker passes, get KW involved more.

OBJ adjusted quickly when we signed him and he was a tough RZ guy. Maybe it should be less of a surprise that we won the year we had OBJ with Kupp

Agree here. Adams didn't even have a catch in 2nd half? Thats crazy since we really needed to score in the 4th. OBJ just throw it up to him in endzone. Kupp too. we need more from Adams, and we need Fergusen to start playing and being an impact guy.
