Soooo...the Rams lose to the JV team. What next?

Post by Ants »

I think this might be the worst Rams loss ever. It has to at least be in the top 5.
I thought the Super Bowl loss to the Pats was bad - being favored by 2 TDs. The cheating. But at least it was against a young Brady.

THIS game against the 49ers? We were playing against a team with an injured 2nd string QB, and multiple starters out.
It shouldn't have been close. On top of this, ANOTHER blocked kick!!!

The thing is, the offense played pretty well. The defense, not so much - but not terrible really. But certainly bad enough.
The fumbles, bad kickoff, refs didn't help.

Deferring in the OT? Are you high, McVay? Thier defense was gassed - why not just get them on the field again and crush them?

Ugh...I didn't even wear one of my many Rams hats today when leaving the house. It's not even about embarrassment - it's more about principal.

definitely top 5.....if we kick the FG to tie there was 4 min left. the way our D was playing they would have kicked a winning FG with seconds left on the clock.

You could tell in the first 5 minutes who had the energy and no matter their injuries who was ready to play. You could also tell within those first minutes how the first half was going to play out. One team showed up at the outset and the other did not. Why the hell this was is the question I have and that needs to be answered. Big divisional rivalry in prime time at 'home' and we come out less than flat. I don't care how the game ended but I do care about our lack of toughness and preparation. The defense seems leaderless...

we don't have a fiery leader on D you are right. we need to get a " Fred Warner " type attitude...obviously not easy to come by but we need one

A high school team could dink, dunk, run on this soft D and move the chains. This Morris D doesn’t work and never will. I just don’t understand why it was used.

I agree. They should have been in Man coverage from the start.
Every one knew going in it would be dink and dunk from Jones....
And they still play zone.... even after the 1st half....
Very little pressure put on by the front too. At times there was but man, on too many downs there was none.
Don't know if the short week affected the Rams, it didn't seem to bother SF's scrubs much.

Did you see what happened when we finally went to man and also took away the 5-7 yard dunk dunk? They went flat.

Too bad it took us more than half the game to figure that out. This was the #1 thing that really bothered me during game. I keep saying, ghost of Morris past keeps haunting us.

Why?
