Titans Trade Cornerback Roger McCreary to Rams in 2026 Draft Pick Swap
More on the trade.
In a not-so-surprising move ahead of the NFL trade deadline on November 4, the Tennessee Titans have traded cornerback Roger McCreary to the Los Angeles Rams. The deal involves a swap of conditional draft picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, with the Titans acquiring a conditional fifth-round selection in exchange for McCreary and the Rams’ conditional sixth-round pick. This trade comes as both teams navigate contrasting trajectories in the 2025 season, with the Titans struggling at 2-6 and the Rams atop the NFC West at 5-2.
McCreary, a former second-round pick out of Auburn in the 2022 NFL Draft, has been a reliable presence in Tennessee’s secondary since joining the team. Over his three-plus seasons with the Titans, he has appeared in 47 games, starting 38, and recorded 213 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 29 passes defended. This year, despite the Titans’ defensive woes—they rank 28th in the league, allowing 256.4 passing yards per game—McCreary has played in all eight contests, starting three. His versatility as a slot corner has made him a valuable asset, though his rookie contract is set to expire at the end of the 2025 season, making him an unrestricted free agent in 2026.

I don't really know much about this guy but he will be a FA after the year. If he is good we could re-sign him and add a former 2nd rounder to our team. He has seen a shite team and now he will see an elite team so that might make it easier to sign him. After some horrible years with the Titans I doubt he signs with the Browns or Jets

Seems like a upgrade to me. Solid tackler, seems to knife in from every angle. Any improvement in the secondary is helpful.

Well, the guy is obviously a 'half-season rental' (actually ten games plus potential postseason contests), however at the least his modest price is right...

He should be motivated given it’s a contract year for him. Taking a part time player off a bad defense doesn’t give me alot of hopes though. This feels like a Forbes level acquisition

I love this move, especially since he is a FA next year. this is the kind of deal that helps build championships, picking up a 2nd round talent on the cheap. Hopefully he plays like the 2nd round talent, and we have a shot to keep him at a team friendly contract. I am still trying to figure out what is going on with Forbes Jr., he had a great camp, but I don't know if we have been playing him to his potential.

Re: Titans Trade Cornerback Roger McCreary to Rams in 2026 Draft Pick Swap
Couple differences
Forbes was bench by the Wash, Roger was not benched by Tenn. Many Wash fans understood why their team cut Forbes. Many Tenn fans dont understand why the Titans traded away their best starting corner and why so little back in return.
After the trade, Forbes was deactivated week after week bc he wasnt ready. Roger is playing this week, Mcvay said he is ready to go ASAP.
