Ethan Evans leaves a lot to be desired
Last two punts by Seattle. 51 and 57 yard punts. Both fair caught. No return.
Evans last 3 punts: low line drive 43 yarder returned for TD, 32 yarder giving them great FP and a fair catch 44 yarder.
Not good.

Lot to be desired? That game or more than that game?
If more then IMO bad take. He has been good not only this year but since we drafted him. One can easily say he won the first game this year against Seattle with his punt late that went out of bounds on inside the one……..

Re: Ethan Evans leaves a lot to be desired
He has not been a favorite of mine. All I heard was his leg, his leg. There are times he really smacks it, but this guy is no Hekker and our ST really misses having a guy like that. Granted Hekker is no longer a Hekker, though still solid, but having a guy who would CONSTANTLY be among the leaders in NET, dropping balls inside the 20, having balls downed or FC .. makes things a WHOLE lot easier on your ST personnel, and we haven't really had that since.
We need to beat the bushes and find a guy like that again before next season rolls around

GR .. shaken not stirred

This! Ethan Evans has been a dynamite punter all season. Never questioned his skill. He has earned a bad day, and not be questionedNorCal RF wrote: ↑December 23rd, 2025, 2:50 pm Lot to be desired? That game or more than that game?

Strong leg, but inconsistent and poor on his directional skills.

Re: Ethan Evans leaves a lot to be desired
Only 13 Touchbacks on 164 punts. 69 inside the 20 or 42% of his punts. Career Avg, 47.2 Yards 40.8 Net.
He also does KO's and is the holder on FG's and PAT's.
All 4 of his Punts @ Seattle were into a stiff little breeze in the last 9:39 of the 4th Q.
Seattle's Punter benefitted from it, thus the 57 and 51 yarders.
Evans didn't have a great night punting but everyone has an off night. See Staff @ Carolina, KW vs SF. He even has a ST Solo Tackle.
Very valuable asset AFAIC..

Re: Ethan Evans leaves a lot to be desired
See this is the stuff I like. Perhaps just more recency bias because I’m irritated on loss then I had to watch Niners drop 48 on Indy.Rampager66 wrote: ↑December 23rd, 2025, 5:00 pm Only 13 Touchbacks on 164 punts. 69 inside the 20 or 42% of his punts. Career Avg, 47.2 Yards 40.8 Net.

Yes he had a bad game, it actually stood out amongst the other failures.therealheadslap75 wrote: ↑December 23rd, 2025, 6:49 pm well it was a horrific game for him, he's been an important weapon before, bad approach and bad execution Thursday

Re: Ethan Evans leaves a lot to be desired
Let's just forget about the punt he dropped on the 1 yard line late in the first game against the SeaChickens.
What I do object to is giving the other team the ball on the 35 each time we score.

Your'e wrong on that one. Evans is a keeper. Sure he had a bad game but he's done well for us.
