Why can't we get a break?

I don't see the pathway for the Rams. Seattle and 49ers can't lose. :(

Seattle and SF haven’t lost since we beat each team last month. Fucking ridiculous. At least one of these shit stains will be unhappy Saturday.

If Sea wins, then SF won’t have home field advantage through the Super Bowl.

That's how they go from 1 seed to 6 in about 8 mins in Seattle.

Because for a team playing in the NFL, you're supposed to make your own breaks, not count on 'assistance' from any other teams...

Not much. Rams control own destiny for 5 seed.

But a 7-9 TB team plays for a home playoff game. So does 8-8 Carolina.
Same with 8-8 Baltimore and 9-7 Steelers
Philly plays in a division where the second place is under .500
Bears wrapped up division before they played tonight.
Luck has a lot to do with it. Rams can’t in division at 11-4.

The blame rests on McVay for failing to address the ST’s issues two months ago.

Some may think he’s great coach.
I personally think management has given him anything he has asked for and he does have a good offensive mind, but his decision making is very questionable at times.

That demonstrates the importance of a team winning its division, since a 'wild card' team can't be seeded higher than #5 in its conference.

However, should the Rams defeat the Falcons and Cardinals, the loser of the Seahawks-vs.-49ers regular-season finale would drop to the #6 seed in the NFC, while our team would move up to #5.

Which would mean the Good Guys beginning their postseason experience playing at a warm-weather location... :) :!:

Let’s be philosophical. The 1968 Rams were 10-3-1 and stayed home as Coastal Division runner-up. There were no wildcards. Had there been, I could easily see that team going on a run and winning the Super Bowl.

Well to be honest, we did have plenty of breaks. WE just decided to make it harder and harder on ourselves. Kept Chase too long and didn’t upgrade DB group in draft NOR before trade deadline very much.

Be nice if we hadn’t blown a 16 point lead with eight minutes left. That was all the break we needed. But that being said, Williams has to go brain dead and give the fucking Whiners the game. He leads Swift on that swing pass where Swift catches it in stride, he scores easily.

Fuck the 49ers. Everything is going their way.

Post by therealheadslap75 »

as we all know, we had a special teams issue last year, we could've addressed the kicking game with a seasoned veteran, we chose not to

We had issues big big issues at linebacker, the Rams didn't go out of their way to fix that problem they got lucky with a very low-key free agent signing that I'm certain surprised them

That leaves us to corner back, I screamed from the mountain top to improve the center of our line we finally paid some attention to it a few seasons ago, everyone knew we were weak at cornerback this year, we did absolutely nothing to fix it, Forbes was kind of signing as white was last year. We could've drafted a corner back in the second round. Instead we drafted a tight end and we don't really throw to him that much. Yes McVay is paying more attention to the tight ends with 13 personnel, but as Ferguson a difference maker? Should we have drafted a stud cornerback to solve a problem during Matthew Stafford's very tight window?

We've caught a few, McLendon and Corum being better than expected, being relatively healthy going into the playoffs and most importantly our aging QB staying healthy after huge concerns. We are so disappointed about the 4 fluke losses but we are well positioned to win now and in the future with draft capital and plenty of cap spaces. So the there are other teams in the NFC that are good, we should be better if we stick to the success formula.

Just a tough NFC west...and of course we got no breaks. We need to win next 2 and grab 5 seed. But either way we are in and I'm not afraid of any team. Philly looks weak.

We got more than our share of breaks. McVay’s bad decisions cost us the NFC West. Plain and simple.

Amazing how Sean is catching almost all the flack for this and how little is being put on the Pampered Players who failed to execute..
They aren't immune either AFAIC... There's plenty of blame to go around.

Agreed. But, at the same time. You have to hold these players accountable. Does McVay do that? I am not sure… none us are. I am still pissed about the three games we have away.

People are talking as though we missed the playoffs, anything can still happen. So there are a few other good teams in the league, its not supposed to be a walkthrough.

Team is 11-4. Has a damn good chance to end at 13-4. That is a hell of a season period. It is just one of those years where there are 3 teams in the division having a hell of a season………

Not getting the #1 seed is 100% on the team. Rams threw up on themselves 3 separate occasions with each game a very low percentage of them losing the game at some point within each game. No one else to blame but themselves……….

But anyone seriously not thinking they can’t win 3 playoff games? You are not? Really? Who actually beat them this year? A Indy team not in the playoffs and Carolina. Anyone really that concern with a Carolina rematch?……..

And did we see Seattle D when we last played them? Did you see SF n Chicago’s D last night? Did you See Seattle put up 3 points in the first half yesterday? Philly offense? That has you concerned! GB D without Parsons n now more injuries? Do we need to talk Tampa?……..

Every damn team in the NFC making the playoffs is flawed. One can make the point that this team is less flawed than any of them………

You can’t not address obvious issues that even we can see that have existed for 2 seasons. Special Teams and no talent bums for cornerbacks! I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt when it comes to linebackers because of Landman. Also stayed too long with Havenstein and Higbee who are both washed.

I don't know NC, there is a history of collapse, now we can say we're 11–4 but we also collapsed in a few wins, it's easy to forget that, but it's happening for a reason. Think about the Super Bowl year, we collapsed to allow San Francisco into the playoffs, we collapse to allow Tampa Bay back into the game, even in the Super Bowl game where we were clearly the better team on almost every level, how close were we to Burrow completing that pass to Jamar Chase when Ramsey fell down?

Obviously McVay is a great coach, but we have a very high bar right now, Stafford is playing out of his mind he's the number one ranked quarterback in the NFL by far, we have the best wide receiver from a ranking standpoint in the NFL, or number two wide receiver is a top 10 wide receiver, we have two top 15 running backs, shouldn't McVay credit for some of this, absolutely, but there's always a blind spot in personnel and we all to often freeze up in the 4th qtr with giant leads

Every team making the playoffs this year has “collapsed” at one time or another this year. Why do you hold this team at another entire tier than the rest of the league on this subject? The season has nothing to do with the playoffs.

And your example like Burrow to Chase well its called football/sports. That has never happened in our favor? Ever?

I’m going to give you credit that you understand the game. I question it at times but……….. You know come playoffs it’s the team that can make plays at critical times, not turn the ball over, n have a QB. It is not what you did in week 3. Seperate the two……………
