Quentin Lake... how good is he really?
I like to solicit some honest feedback on this player. I am not really a DB expert in any sense so I don't quite fully understand his responsibilities , but it sure seems like he gets hyped up by the fans (not unlike some of the other young players we have) and I am not sure I believe they hype. I would like to hear your feedback on if he should be re-signed and will he make a difference in the playoffs.

He is our best safety and when he was playing we didn't have blown coverage all the time like we have now. So yeah we miss him...but him alone won't fix all the issues this defense has now.

See, to me, he is a JUST above average safety... but what I think we are missing here is, when you have a DB group as bad as ours, the slightly above average guys really shine...brasilrams wrote: ↑Today, 10:27 am He is our best safety and when he was playing we didn't have blown coverage all the time like we have now. so my question is, how really good is Lake?
But yes, hes our best guy back there, and we win w him in. I also think he plays a bigger part because he seems to be the leader back there. I mean, who else is going to keep smacking Forbes and the rest of the stooges in the back of the heads?.
And yes Slickj, he made a difference a TON in the season for us, and it would be a good re-signing imo,

Lake as a player is above average, far from great, but he was rarely ever out of place, always took good angles. What is greatly missed his leadership and field calls (he wore the green dot). He made the infield adjustments prior to the snap. It is missed.

He isn't elite, though he has improved, and looks capable of taking another step, but he has been more or less solid, and the D seems less disjointed with him on the field.
Del Mar .. isn't he positionally in the frame of Ramsey's "Star" role?

GR .. shaken not stirred

Yes, no Ram works harder down in San Diego in the off season then Quentin Lake.
He gets together with a bunch of players like Amon St Brown to improve.

Funny how many of you Ram Fans don’t do your homework. But I am just a 60 year old man.
