STAFFORD AND THE LAW OF AVERAGES
you see it in baseball every year, some guy is hitting 380 who usually hits 280 for the first half of the season, the problem is that second half of the season he winds up hitting 180 and finishes with his average at 280 because that's who the guy he is.
Stafford is great, he can make all the throws, but he's always had a moderate chunk of pics and pick sixes on his stat line, he hasn't made many mistakes this year
Let's hope he maintains that position throughout the playoffs

Re: STAFFORD AND THE LAW OF AVERAGES
He's played like that his entire career. That's why he's a top 30 QB all times and not a top 1O all times (he could have been with his pure talent)
With him you can beat anybody, and lose to anybody. That's what makes him so entertaining to watch

Re: STAFFORD AND THE LAW OF AVERAGES
I would also put landman as somebody who should go on this list as he played well above his average for the first half of the year and he's not looking so great last couple of games

Re: STAFFORD AND THE LAW OF AVERAGES
he deserves it, could have had an all time historic season if he beat Seattle and did not drop the ball vs Carolina and Atlanta, run away no doubt.
he is 37
Pat's QB will have many more chances for it.. send Stafford off with one

Re: STAFFORD AND THE LAW OF AVERAGES
I will definitely be upset if Stafford doesn’t win MVP but I will be PISSED if maye gets it. He just didn’t put up good numbers for who he has played against this year. Stafford does it against good/great teams!!

Re: STAFFORD AND THE LAW OF AVERAGES
Stafford and the offense regained some of their groove today, but a better Arizona would have had three interceptions. That would have sucked, of course. Zero turnovers makes such a difference.
He should win the MVP. All I think about is team wins though.

Re: STAFFORD AND THE LAW OF AVERAGES
Stafford deserves it, he had two bad games that stood out amongst a 17 game season with the toughest schedule, he beat Seattle, San Fran, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Houston, Balitmore, Colts, Detroit and almost beat SF,Seattle twice, Philly and Carolina
his two bad games, his teams lost by 3 point each game and he had them in position to win both games.

Re: STAFFORD AND THE LAW OF AVERAGES
I'm sure Staff would trade the MVP for a Lombardi in a heartbeat!

Re: STAFFORD AND THE LAW OF AVERAGES
Stafford makes absolutely insane throws more so than Maye although Maye throws a beautiful ball, but the voters are going to say Mayes team had a better record, Maye has less talented receivers and May doesn't have Sean McVay

Re: STAFFORD AND THE LAW OF AVERAGES
like Brady said give it to Stafford he deserves it plus he is 37 and Maye will have plenty of time to win onetherealheadslap75 wrote: ↑January 4th, 2026, 6:53 pm Stafford makes absolutely insane throws more so than Maye although Maye throws a beautiful ball, but the voters are going to say Mayes team had a better record, Maye has less talented receivers and May doesn't have Sean McVay

Re: STAFFORD AND THE LAW OF AVERAGES
He deserves it but I won't be surprised if he doesn't get it. The press still doesn't like giving him credit. (If his name was Brady or Mahomme's he would have been the 2021 Super Bowl MVP...but that is a different argument.) I am sure the Lombardi trophy means more to him. I don't think a QB with 45+ TDs has ever not won MVP.ocram23 wrote: ↑January 4th, 2026, 7:15 pmlike Brady said give it to Stafford he deserves it plus he is 37 and Maye will have plenty of time to win onetherealheadslap75 wrote: ↑January 4th, 2026, 6:53 pm Stafford makes absolutely insane throws more so than Maye although Maye throws a beautiful ball, but the voters are going to say Mayes team had a better record, Maye has less talented receivers and May doesn't have Sean McVay
He has seen an uptick this year and seems to be making an effort to get in the public's eye. (A few more commercials, "Let's Go" on Sirius, etc.) If he doesn't get it will because of his Atlanta game. Maye has 31 throwing TDs and 4 rushing TDs...to Mathew's 46 TDs, leads the league in passing yards, etc. If he doesn't get it this year it will be a shame.

yeah read one of the east coast hacks for the reasons why Maye deserves it. still think Staff should get itBulldawg wrote: ↑January 5th, 2026, 7:23 amHe deserves it but I won't be surprised if he doesn't get it. Re: STAFFORD AND THE LAW OF AVERAGES
The most stupid take I heard was about how many rushing 1st downs Maye has this year. (Maybe it was 3rd down conversions.). Why wouldn’t we compare all 1st downs?ocram23 wrote: ↑January 5th, 2026, 12:19 pmyeah read one of the east coast hacks for the reasons why Maye deserves it. still think Staff should get itBulldawg wrote: ↑January 5th, 2026, 7:23 am
