The 7-times-married-former-show-girl Georgia certainly knew how to work the 'Dance of the Seven Veils' for amazing financial advantage...

Oh boy, she sure did... also, apparently had ties to mob back to her show girl days... and they say it was the mob who whacked ol Mr Rosenbloom... I mean, come on now... For example, do you know who introduced Georgia to Carroll? A familiar fella named Meyer Lansky... Hmmm.

While swimming in Golden Beach, Florida, in 1979, 72-year-old Los Angeles Rams owner Carroll Rosenbloom was caught in a particularly vicious riptide, and during his struggle for safety, (supposedly) suffered a heart attack and drowned. One might also recognize the allusion to Carroll’s younger, beautiful wife Georgia who would inherit his team...

This link is a GREAT read below, not a short read, but will def make you wonder and think... what really did happen to CR.

Georgia’s efforts to keep a low profile were dashed in October when the Los Angeles Times published a front-page story about her, penned by investigative reporters Alan Greenberg and Mike Goodman. In addition to dissecting her “flowery” bio in the 1979 Rams media guide, her chronic tardiness, and her aversion to “household duties,” it sought to establish a definitive chronology of each of her then-six marriages, set the record straight on her real age (51, not 42!), and demonstrate that she gave birth to both of her children with Carroll before they were legally married. Though the authors claimed to have conducted over 60 interviews, the story relied heavily on quotes from stepson Steve, Steve’s wife Renee, “unnamed friends,” and two of Georgia’s ex-husbands. Defending the underwhelming nature of their exposé, Greenberg explained that due to legal concerns, only a small portion of the story’s findings could be published. Though he didn’t specify the nature of the unpublished findings, it was alleged that the two journalists had been asking Georgia’s friends if they knew where she had been at the time of CR’s death.

Perhaps in defiance of the LA Times piece or out of frustration after humiliating losses the Rams had suffered to the Cowboys and Chargers, Georgia headed to Rams’ new Anaheim facility on October 24, 1979 with newfound resolve. She pulled in behind the wheel of a shiny, new Pontiac Firebird, which she parked in a special space reserved for “Mrs. Rosenbloom,” and joined Klosterman in a golf cart in the middle of the practice field. She then held an impromptu press conference in which she charged the media with sexism, vowed she would never sell the team, and boldly predicted that despite the Rams 4-4 start, her team would make the playoffs. Behind closed doors, Georgia also addressed her players. According to quarterback Pat Haden, she proclaimed her faith in the team and promised that she “wasn’t going to chop heads.” Kicker Frank Coral remembers it as a turning point in the season.

The Rams’ 1979 run is generally attributed to the midseason insertion of Vince Ferragamo at quarterback, but Georgia’s steadying presence should not to be overlooked. Following a loss to the New York Giants during which LA fans loudly booed her players, Georgia was resilient and optimistic: “I’m starting to think of next week. I’m also thinking about the good things I saw today.” The Rams won eight of their next 10 games en route to their first Super Bowl appearance ever and their first NFL championship game since 1955. NFL Films called 1979, “a tale of two seasons.” As Georgia put it: “I died, but I came back to life.”

10 years of being back in LA!! Oh yeah!!!

Now do any of you guys remember that day and announcement?

Just told my wife...you know we went to a movie 10 years ago today!! She asked how I knew that? I started out with saying the Rams and she cut me off in mid sentence!! LOL We had just got home from the matinee on that Tuesday and turned on the sports and there it was!!! Rams moving back!! Thought it was a long shot since St. Louis was going to build the Rams a stadium on the River!! I was satisfied with it atleast being outside if they were staying St. Louis.. But this news was the BEST!!! Go Rams!!!

Good post, and I do remember not only that ngt, but what I was wearing, where I was and who I was with. I was in the office looking at every piece of news coming out of that owners meeting. Then when news broke, it was truly one of the greatest days in my Rams life. I had to read the tweets and other breaking news 3-4 times to finally believe and realize, it was once again… THE LOS ANGELES RAMS!!!💥

Next day, I wore my Kevin Greene jersey to work. I also remember trying to buy more gear that said ‘Los Angeles Rams’ and I found some knock off asian site, I ended up spending like $45 for a cheap Rams t shirt. Kicker is when I got it in the mail (2 weeks later) they spelled Angeles wrong! I kept the shirt for fun, I figure now, I can send it to our one and only, the Mr. Safety Blitz 🤷🏻‍♂️😜

Ok, I would love to hear all of your opinions here, but what was your initial thoughts when we heard and saw Sean McVay for the first time as our new Rams coach...?

Ill start.

Jan 12 2017: I was sitting in a mtg at work and I got a ping w breaking news... and I saw the name Sean McVay and the age was 29 years old... just turning 30... and I sat there totally stumped.. I was like 'Who is this nerdy looking kid and how desperate are we, this is the splash Kronk wants to make in LA? REALLY?!"... I was totally miffed and was like, CRAP. Then a day or two later he did the press interview, he came out wet behind the years and I was like "We just hired a total nerd who played what... D3 college ball? Never ran a football team, let alone a NFL team... Dude looks better equipped to be an assistant manager at Dicks sporting goods, not running a BILLION DOLLAR corporation. And after what we went through w Fisher ball, my patience had run thin, and I had NO room for 'giving it time and let a new coach acclimate. I wanted a winner and I wanted it now.

So, I was pretty upset.

Present Day: "OMG, who knew". And the answer was, Snead and Kronk knew...

I was impressed from the get-go. He said CHARACTER will be the foundation!!!! Boom! The way he instantaneously created a new ...we, not me... culture everyone bought into was impressive.

After dealing with Fisher, I was happy to have someone who seemed to be the opposite of Fisher.

Young, new, energetic and part of a new generation of coaching.
