Then again, the Rams return coverage is a bit vulnerable, more on punts than kickoffs. What might they do with kickoffs against Seattle?
I actually agree with you and Truth above here...

I think for me, I was hoping to see the kid kick at least one field goal. We need to get him some NFL kicks.. and my ONLY reason is, what if a kick is our only shot, and it either wins or loses the game... w everything on the line.. those kicks come w some experience.

Then when the time comes he needs to make it period. Yesterday was not that time. Not when you had Stafford doing what he was doing……..

We took the ball out of Stafford’s hands the last play the first time we played niners. We know how most of us felt with that decision. McVay wasn’t going to do it again yesterday with the only difference being a run instead of a kick……….

The kid looked good yesterday kicking the ball. I’m not that concerned backing him up 20-25 is going to change that……..

I actually thought the kicking or really PAT's looked crisper this week...Is Mevis the guy? Maybe for now....and I think Karty needed a mental break...so, IMO, this is a good move

Exactly. I still think Karty is a solid kicker, just going through the process of his mental thoughts are getting the best of him.

My yips, lasted about a year a decade ago. It was literally the craziest thing I had ever experienced, on a course that I would shoot 80-84 consistently, I could not break 95 for a year. It was demoralizing and almost kicked golf to the curb, forever... was a rough time. FINALLY, went out w my usual crew and shot a 79. The best part, they thought I had hustled them all.. won a good stack that day. So, I def have some empathy towards Karty at this time. He'll come back around.

I’ve been thinking about this and what an important mindset step the SF win provided. My sense is that McVay wanted as many positives as possible and to see that carry over into the tough stretch of games ahead. The offense was rolling, so sticking with a good thing made sense. Not kicking also made sense to preserve the positives. Why take a risk in killing the positive vibe with a very long field goal, especially for a first kick? The beautiful, high, straight extra points showed plenty.

We didn't need a new kicker. Nor did we need better blocking up front. Apparently we just needed a new long snapper...lol

For now, until he proves otherwise, Mevis is the kicker imo. Send Karty to the sports shrink they sent Artest to years ago!

But Delmar what did you do to break the spell? Slump busting? Stopped drinking coffee? Only played a round on odd days of the week?

Didnt touch a club for about 3 months and stopped overtaking things. Went back to basics I guess... honestly, I really dont know what I did to change it. But I think it's because I stopped playing for a while.
