Lakers fans are just

Post by GoldenRam »

off the hook nuts

There are some folks who think 2026 is going to bring Giannis AND Joker to LA to join Luka. One even saying it is NOT as farfetched as some might think,

OK .. so after the *180* MILLION dollar paydays to those 3 .. what exactly would be the plan for signing the other ELEVEN players to fill out the roster .. oh I know .. from Draft Day .. they will sprinkle them with fairy dust and wish upon a star to make those 11 guys fit into the remaining probably 25 million.. So Luka/Joker/Giannis and team FULL of vet min guys. To be fair .. they have Bird rights for Austin .. so they could pay him whatever he wants as long as the new owner is OK with paying the tax and not having certain options such as the MLE to use

Sheesh

Everything changed a few moths ago, when Jeanie FINALLY sold.

And she could not have picked a better buyer. Mark Walter is much like Kronk, very, very deep pockets. Willing to take chances/risk, phenomenal delegator and extremely well respected. I fully expect a new version of showtime to be in the floor eventually. I also believe getting rid of LeBron James is the best way for us to get back into winning some chips.

Mark has already started preparing. After extending Luka this week to the max deal, Mark is telling us he’s all in.

He’s going to do the same thing with the Lakers, that’s he’s done with the Dodgers. Just watch. It’s already happening. I mean the interesting thing that didn’t get a lot of press was, the week the deal went down w Mark and the purchase, Luka started a new diet and work out regiment. No joke. I think we’re going to see a Lakers team like we’ve never seen before.

While im optimistic and cautious, im extremely pleased to already see the changes this new Lakers team is now showing. In order to succeed in professional sports these days, you need an owner that is beyond wealthy, smart and patient. One that delegates well and one that his executives, players and all staff can rally around… basically NOT a Jerry Jones… I believe Mark, is our guy.

Los Angeles is back, back! Dodgers, Rams, Lakers, Chargers… shoot, even the Kings are making some terrific moves for the future. Now, if stinking Moreno would sell the damn Angels to an owner like Mark and Kronk… we’d be set. (The Angels are much like the Jeanie Lakers were. One huge superstar, then some good players then a bunch of jags. Arte’s ego has killed the Angels, and the person who o feel the worst for, Mike Trout. So SELL THE TEAM ARTE!

Some BRITE days ahead of you’re a LA sports fan.

Some clown on the Lakers forum thinks THIS is a good deal for the Lakers .. Reaves PLUS *3* FRP for Zion Williamson and whatever the hell HIS salary is, for what .. about 35 games a season .. because Reaves has NO upside and Zion has PLENTY of that elusive quality ..

The NBA is not MLB. With Hard cap and aprons, which determine even what funding options are available for teams depending on their levels, you can prepare all you like, but monetary penalties are now much greater than in the past and salaries, especially for the top players are making it impossible for super teams now. Lakers fans are particularly clueless and out of touch. They have Luka, and ask for Giannis AND Joker, or bringing back AD. You would have a 3 man roster and all vet mins after. Luka is what $55 mil .. Joker will be about $60 Giannis would be about 62 I believe, AD is $52

THIS seasons salary cap is $154 mil and it doesn't go up all that much year over year. Yes, you can can sign guys you have already to go over the cap, but then those aprons still hit. Luka and ANY of those others leaves about 40 mil, maybe less, to fill in the roster. You aren't winning titles like that.

Denver literally has the BEST player in the NBA to build around. Lost two guys they could not replace at level and and in results went from champ to chump. I think a reckoning is rushing headlong into the NBA. The salary structure and the CAP are reaching a point where they can no longer coincide. They tried, and mostly succeeded in maintaining a structure whereby the BIG stars don't move simply because the SuperMax is higher from current teams, and no matter what anyone may pretend, it's ALL about the money. Problem is that means bread and butter players are moving all over the lot because THEIR value cannot be met against superstar obligations. When those players land in situations that don't fit their skills, or regress, teams are now sitting on contracts they can't move unless some team with cap to absorb the contract steps up, but when they do, the cost to UNLOAD that contract is brutal. 40 mil contract to take on sure .. but attach 2 FRP with it to make it worth our while. Now you do have that 40 mil, but you've lost future picks, and the protections on those picks are extremely important, especially if you end up lottery bound.

NBA and NFL are closer and look what happened to the Rams. God forbid the NBA adopt that dead money option.
