Re: Moving on
the bullpen is still a complete disaster. Sheehan was awful last night but he hasn't pitched since the 26th so I am going to let him slide. I think we found our closer in Sasaki last night. Philly is a tough place to play so hopefully Ohtani can go in there and shut them down

Re: Moving on
They may use him there for the rest of the season, but expect him back in the rotation next year, especially with the Kersh retirement and not a lot of options in the minors. Also, like most Japanese pitchers he has a lot of pitches, which is where some of his effect comes from and as a closer, you don't use a lot of different pitches.
Sheehan was probably knocking off a little rust, starters always need to get that regular day to stay sharp. Only ones different are usually marginal guys or some of the top ones who can go on 3 days, but that's pretty much become a thing of the past

Re: Moving on
with Sheehan I hope you are right because they are going to need him against the Phillies. something happened last night for Roberts pulling him on a 1-2 count....never seen that beforeGoldenRam wrote: ↑October 2nd, 2025, 9:29 am They may use him there for the rest of the season, but expect him back in the rotation next year, especially with the Kersh retirement and not a lot of options in the minors. Re: Moving on
Kike Hernandez has to have the biggest difference of performance between his regular season numbers and post season. This guy can hit 200 all regular season but in the playoffs he’s as clutch as it gets.
I think the Phillies are done. Can’t blow games like that in a short series and win.

Re: Moving on
I don't compliment Roberts much when it comes to the pitching staff but I did like the Glasnow move. Sasaki also killing it as the closerduanevalle22 wrote: ↑October 6th, 2025, 2:46 pm I feel better about the bullpen.... but I still grind my teeth when the starter comes out
