Rams nearly traded 2026 second-rounder for No. 70 overall
In a feature story by Mike Silver of The Athletic, it was revealed that the Rams were willing to part ways with a future second-rounder in order to secure an edge rusher – specifically, Louisville’s Ashton Gillotte.
The Jaguars were considering it until Los Angeles pulled the offer off the table once Gillotte was picked by the Chiefs at No. 66.

I hate to hear this story. It does show you though they want to win now. Let's hope they don't do something stupid with Ramsey

Especially since that pick may be needed in a package to trade up for a QB

They're (Miami) not gonna get a 2nd or 3rd for Ramsey.. If they do.. then something bad happened to Snead and he shouldn't have been working!

Agreed.
The only way Rams give up more than a 6th or 5th, Miami will have to eat most of Ramsey salary for 2025 and 2026. If Miami does that, which could bring Ramsey cap hit to around 7 million in 2026, maybe give Miami a 3rd for Ramsey and Miami 2026 5th.

you want to give Miami a 3rd rounder for Ramsey? If that is what you are saying I am totally against that. I don't think we should make the move at all let alone give them a 3rd.Cornell29 wrote: ↑April 30th, 2025, 8:20 amAgreed.

It may be the going price if we want Miami to eat some of his salary. Otherwise yes it would be a 6th and a cheeseburger.ocram23 wrote: ↑April 30th, 2025, 9:15 amyou want to give Miami a 3rd rounder for Ramsey? If that is what you are saying I am totally against that. As someone said earlier- and something I believe- Our pass rush may have improved a lot with this draft and Ford trade. The CB improves with pass rush and vice versa. A CB trade hopefully won't mortgage our future- nor do we need to do that. grab someone with less baggage.

Trading future draft assets for ??? Players under the guise of “ we are just this close “ is irresponsible - understand the MS time frame and sense of urgency but really ? Already down a 2026 4th round pick and counting with the Ramsey situation percolating. IMO we have done this before & it just does not seem to the feasible way to proceed in keeping a program competitive.

That would be point-blank totally foolish, however as I pointed out in another thread, the McVay/Snead regime has made some extremely foolish trades in the past.ocram23 wrote: ↑April 30th, 2025, 9:15 amyou want to give Miami a 3rd rounder for Ramsey? Fortunately, the one that our team attempted to engage in back on Friday didn't materialize, I suppose that Rams fans should be grateful to the Chiefs for preventing it from occurring... :? ;) :P

Looks like the Rams won't need to offer a 3rd to get Miami to eat all of Ramsey salary. Rams have enough to cover Ramsey salary.
