Would you trade 3 1s + for Parsons?

Post by Simdaddy »

Saw somewhere where it would be 3 1s, plus Byron Young which is steep . But Id be talking with AD to see how serious he was about coming back before I said no to that size of a package. Imagine if AD and Parsons is what you got for that package. Every day all day you make that move.

Parsons is a joke, we dont want that attitude on the Rams. Plus will suck up too much of our leverage when we are searching for our next franchise QB. Not even a consideration to get Parsons. We dont need Mr Nacho. No way... he looks great getting a tan on that table in Dallas, hope he stays there.

As for AD, we need to let that go... the dude aint coming back. We are loaded at DL, and have bigger needs in other spots long before we look at DL imo. If AD did get a bug, and comes back, great... but 99.9% chance thats not happening.

I get the let the AD thing go but he said it , worth asking. But Parsons is no joke, he is getting the screw in Dallas and acting like child true, but would not be the case here with McVay. That dude is a killer. We will draft a franchise QB and not have to pay him for 4 years so that's 5 years away at the earliest. We can spend some money.

But do you realize how much capitol (cap and draft pics) we would have to give up to get him?

Let me ask you this, you are willing to give up 3 first round picks for Parsons, yet we will be in search for our next Franchise QB... I just dont understand this logic. We need to have ALL we can have to negotiate this next off season for our next QB. I mean, How do you plan on drafting a QB if we have NO 1st round pics to get that QB?

I do agree w you, Parsons is a beast, and maybe his attitude would change... but we have much bigger holes to fill next year than just filling Stafford's shoes. Yes, we need a LB, but I rather draft one in the 2nd round next year, than to give away the farm.

If we were ok at QB and dint need one for a few years, and we had a ton of cap space, and other spots were ok... then maybe look at Parsons, but this is not the time to grab that guy.

I get he is the best on the NFL his stats prove it minus not being a sack leader. But NO NO NO. Our DL is amazing combined with a revamped ILB Corp we don't need him.

Two reason what we would need to pay him even with send say Byron Young in the deal. All the free $ we currently have would be eaten up by his current salary. The 3 1sts defeats the long term we will need at QB we need the firepower to try and acquire a top rookie QB and by giving 1 of our two first away even if it is the Rams first next season is still too much.

He maybe the best at his position but our DL as a whole imo will be the best in the league without Parsons.

Why would Jones be so stupid to trade him to the Rams a team with a ton of ascending talent same with the reports on GB. If I was Jerry I would send him to an AFC team I am sure he can get the same haul. I bet Parsons was salivating watching our team this preseason at scrimmages or the game.

Jerry is in the best position bc he can pay Micah on his 2025 salary then franchise tag him twice for a total of three more years with zero downside in terms of if he gets majorly injured because there will be no guaranteed $ and this will be cheaper than the deal Parson wants. Obviously Micah will go ballistic because if he gets hurt that will cripple his financial future.

What I saw was more than3 first it included a player my guess it would be Byron Young bc we will need to pay him next season and he might take the sting out of sending Parsons to LA. I heard Gary from GB was in their offer.

Nope! We need all thr draft capital we can get for a QB and RT/LT of the future. Plus, that would leave us with less money to pay for other guys. I'm totally against this and hope we don't do anything.

Look at the big picture. First off, Rams need their next QB in the 26 draft. Not a Dlineman.

The Rams cannot afford another player who wants to be the highest paid in the league. If so, you may be looking at losing Puka, and/or Verse in the near future .

The Rams have a young great defensively core. They are in position to get the young QB to go with that, AND, on a rookie deal. Why give that all up for the next guy who wants his deal redone every time another player in the league signs for more.

Id rather have the next franchise QB than having Parsons and Jimmy G.

With so many great players on rookie deals and the capital to go get the top QB In the draft next year we could be set up for the next decade. No way use those three picks for Joe burrow or the best QB next year and or a premier LT. Back troubles are horrible but I truly believe 9 plays another year after this one. Let a kid sit behind him. Or trade back again and collect the more capital for 2027. Always be in position to get a great QB. I bet the Mannings would maneuver for Arch to end up with McVay. And that kid comes from mone, and is making his own. He maybe on board with not breaking the bank at contract time to make sure he gets rings.

Hard pass. Would rather drop three number ones on someone like Burrow than Parsons for sure.

Last Ill say about this, its not about the next 3-5 years . Its about winning this year is all I'm saying. I get that its a huge overpay, I get that it screws the future, But for this year with Stafford as the QB it would be a huge get. Give me great for a year over very good for 5 is my point.

If AD comes back with him, I'd have to give it a hard look. The only issue is that we have to start looking for our future QB now. If we give up three firsts, no matter how good our defense is, our offense won't be the same without Stafford.

Do I want a 5-10 year run w multiple SB's opportunities or just this year and MAYBE get a SB.

I done think you dont realize how much this move would handicap us.

For poops and giggles here... Let's just say we do the deal and and sell the farm to sing Parsons... THEN Matt Stafford gets hurt in week 3... ... we will have a great DL but cant afford to much else.

This would kill us Slim. Sorry man... Too risky

Entitled to your opinion but again sorry no.

The overpay isn’t just the picks. Parsons wants a long term contract making him the highest paid player in the NFL outside of the QB position. You have Nacua, Avila, Verse, Young, Turner, Fiske, etc all currently on rookie contracts. You bring him in then you are losing some of those players soon with no guarantee a SB would happen this year. You make that trade n you don’t win it all in 2025 then you have set this franchise back for a few years if not longer.

Hell No....Parsons is dominate and there's no denying that but the Rams have worked hard to get out of draft purgatory and no need to jump right back in now

The Rams have Jared Verse for at least four more years on a first-round rookie contract, he's somewhat younger than Micah Parsons and very soon will likely be about as effective as a pass-rushing OLB.

What makes anyone think that our team should or could try to acquire Parsons, who would be prohibitively expensive...?? ;) :?:

Why would we want him? Are you telling me Verse, Young and Stewart aren't a heck of a edge room?
