Run Blocking Needs to Improve
Our line is fantastic in pass protection but not so in run blocking. What's the solution?

Re: Run Blocking Needs to Improve
I agree - Shelton is weak @ C but both are Guards have run block skills with good size. It could be technique they are being taught ? Our RB duo does not move the pile in short yardage and at this point McVay has no plan or desire to get/use bigger-stronger RB in his O philosophy. It may cost us at some point but it will not be part of this McVay O.

One would think that the running backs would bounce to the outside more often.

Re: Run Blocking Needs to Improve
This^ today very much would have helped against that D…….
First occasionally you give your opponent some credit…….
Second the run struggle at times today was IMO playing 3TE at the same time. Don’t get me wrong it worked and was a solid plan with no Nacua today. But it doesn’t spread out the D n had the D not overly concerned in Rams getting deep. So you had D in the box…….

Need to pass out of the 13 personnel formations to counter Defenses loading the box. Three TEs was necessary with Puka's absense.

Re: Run Blocking Needs to Improve
Jacksonville dline is a group of first round picks which generally means pretty talented. Our oline controlled the game. On drives where we failed to score it was usually our mistake dropped ball or penalty that cost us drive not oline blocking.
