is Karty taking too long to kick
after watching a couple of replays it kinda has a feeling like there's a little bit of a leg to his approach, it doesn't seem that explosive, I'm certain they have the watch on him but the watch isn't gonna help him during the game

Re: is Karty taking too long to kick
Wouldn't it be great if we had a competent ST coach to a) see this, and b) help fix it?therealheadslap75 wrote: ↑November 4th, 2025, 11:16 am after watching a couple of replays it kinda has a feeling like there's a little bit of a leg to his approach, it doesn't seem that explosive, I'm certain they have the watch on him but the watch isn't gonna help him during the game

Answering thread question……..yes.
Definition of a kicker with no confidence and thinking way too much…………
He didn’t do that on a Saturday night against Oregon State………………

Need a new coach and replace several oline men in the field goal team. It is not a kicker issue.
I have seen 2-3 defensive players in the backfield. You can kick a ball with 6-5 defensive players near the kicker.

Re: is Karty taking too long to kick
IMO Karty needs to just keep his head down, focus, and kick the ball regardless of what the line does. He may be taking a second too long- allowing these guys off the edge to be in his face. I know I make it sound easy, but a PAT is supposed to be pretty easy if you execute the timing right. No time for D to get thru unless the blocks just wiff thru the middle. Which has happened for the Rams. Just fire Chase already.

Re: is Karty taking too long to kick
Not sure it's Karty. He made 25 in a row or something like that extending back to last year. To me it's the coaching and a player tweak on the line. Almost all his misses has someone in his face that broke through the line.
My solution it may not be the smartest but it fixes the line being blown up is kick two yards further back and let's see if it's Larty, the snapper or the line. Clearly not the norm and not ideal giving up two extra yards to ensure the kick gets off. But at the end of the day this has happened in multiple games and we lost 2 games on big misses.

Re: is Karty taking too long to kick
He shouldn't be watching the rush he should be properly completing his mechanics and watching the ball.
If he's looking up instead that's a potential problem.

Re: is Karty taking too long to kick
IMO I have noticed what seems like a slow LAG to his approach - seems to be the slowest K in the NFL to the ball- almost a lackadaisical approach to the actual kick. ST coach can tell ( or should know) by timing this move & comparing it to the NFL average. Also believe Rams blocking action up front is a factor as well.

Wow, it looks like Little takes 1.5 steps into the placed ball, while Karty takes 3.

Re: is Karty taking too long to kick
He's not a good kicker period.
And he will never progress with a mediocre ST coach.
If he needs a perfectly placed ball, a perfect line protection for 5 seconds so he can WALK to the ball, and please opponents, don't extend the arms too high because my kick is so low...What's the point of persisting with this bum. He's not an NFL kicker.

Re: is Karty taking too long to kick
I see the same step taken to the ball. Just that Karty pauses and has clearly lots of shit in his head before he starts his motion. Cam L is fluid.

Re: is Karty taking too long to kick
I will also say again....if we the fans can see this and put a few clips together showing what the problem seems to be...Then why the F is our ST coach not doing the same?

$$$$$$... Salary Cap has alot to do with it.. And you don't just make a move for the sake of making a move and you wanna make it w/o lowering the standard on the roster elsewhere. It needs to be the right fit. Many intangibles, involved that most fans don't get!

Rampager much too educated response. Let's keep it to emotional responses only!Rampager66 wrote: ↑November 7th, 2025, 9:37 am$$$$$$... Salary Cap has alot to do with it.. Re: is Karty taking too long to kick
I was not implying any roster changes or anything $$$. Just think our ST coach should be fired, and the new coach take a look at the film and fix it. Make it look like a real kicking game. If Karty can't change his ways, then yeah- he needs to go. But Just try to right the process first. I think it's simple as that.Rampager66 wrote: ↑November 7th, 2025, 9:37 am$$$$$$... Re: is Karty taking too long to kick
If you don't get emotional watching us lose because of a flawed kicking game- more power to you. As fans, I agree we don't see a lot of the behind the scenes. Why certain players are not playing. But this is not one of those times. We all have eyes. FG unit stinks and needs fixing. There's no question.Jacksnow wrote: ↑November 7th, 2025, 9:48 amRampager much too educated response. It you watch the video. The center was late on hiking the ball. The line was falling apart before the Baal was hiked.

Re: is Karty taking too long to kick
I think that a lot has been happening with Ward and that Karty’s rhythm has been killed, even with a different snapper. Karty needs to pause and observe and find his mojo again.
Maybe Evans will return to kickoffs?

Well, Karty is now going to have a lot more time thinking about his kicks... from his couch.
