I echo all the sentiments about the defense
It's clear to see right now. This is a below average defense at best.
Shula was much more aggressive last year than he was this year. At this point I don't know how much more of this I can watch.

Very big regression...just glad we are in the playoffs b4 this happened. Hard to see us making a run with this D. Pretty bad. Shula- not sure what happened.

Re: I echo all the sentiments about the defense
I get the frustration with Shula, but Verse and Young just aren't winning. They are rarely double teamed and they still aren't winning their 1v1 match ups with the O Line. When Verse does win, it's 50/50 on whether he'll make the tackle, he just whiffs on too many plays. With extensions coming up for both or them, do we think about letting them walk? Fiske has disappeared too. If it wasn't for Turner and Poona in the run game we would have no production out of the D Line. I just don't get it, we can blame Shula's scheme, but the players have regressed so much, it's inexplicable!

Re: I echo all the sentiments about the defense
Good take...and I agree that's what i see. Seems like our edge has regressed. Not winning at all. And I feel like Verse can be great- just doesn't play with "vision" or something. He attacks but seems unaware how to take an angle or get a guy down a lot. Like he's just focused on his blocker and not the play. AD would do it all and see where the ball is going and just make the play- get his guy. Verse not so much. I do think he has great raw skills/tools to be better.NDIrishRam wrote: ↑Yesterday, 8:53 am I get the frustration with Shula, but Verse and Young just aren't winning. Re: I echo all the sentiments about the defense
At this point, i don't even give a give a fuck. McVay showed the world that his offense is more important than his defense. We'll never improve on that side of the ball as long as we have his best friend and lover Shula on the staff. The defense has regressed, nothing's being done about it and we keep making the same stupid decisions. We rarely get turnovers. When tf was the last time we actually sacked someone? At this point, idc what happens to the Rams. They deserve everything they get. And im sure you know who is going to read this and start crying like he always does. Even tho I'm right.

The DC is the one who schemes that bullshit open.NDIrishRam wrote: ↑Yesterday, 8:53 am I get the frustration with Shula, but Verse and Young just aren't winning. Re: I echo all the sentiments about the defense
We are 11 of 32 in total team sacks. The Falcons are #2....who knew that? For NFC playoff teams...the Eagles and Seahawks are ahead of us in sacks. I will say I feel like all our sacks came in the first 10 games.FelixTheStonerCat wrote: ↑Yesterday, 10:00 am At this point, i don't even give a give a fuck.
