Great win by rams but we have issues.
I have to say first and foremost that mcvay literally almost lost this game by not playing kyron more and giving him the ball more in 2nd half. We gave one away last week and we almost gave another one away this week which would have just been too devastating. Williams was gashing the colts all day long.
It concerns me when he makes obvious mistakes like quarterback sneaking Stafford and not giving Williams the ball when we know he's like one of the best shortyards running back's all in all of the NFL. That led to a colt's touchdown in the first half.
Mcvay better get it together. We escaped today.

Re: Great win by rams but we have issues.
We have a bunch of issues , starting with OL and Corner . We also DESPERATELY need TE HELP . Higs at this point is less than a JAG .
We won but I didn't like the performance overall . We got a bunch of lucky bounces ( mitchel being an idiot and then , the db lost his balance alone , went down and tutu was wide open ) . Those 2 lucky bounces gaves us the win but I didn't like the way the team played overall .

Re: Great win by rams but we have issues.
Rams QB simply can’t move anymore and the RT is about done. The center isn’t very good either. But………
The D is really good. Perfect? No but really good. And the offense has arguably the best WR in the game and some playmakers. This team has been in all for games and is 3-1. The record they should probably have right now.
Again if this league was a perfect science……….Some will never see such…………..

Dotson looked gassed by late 3rd, 4th quarter. If you noticed he had some bone head penalty in the 4th. Dotson will get better as conditioning improves.

Stafford is having trouble evading some sacks that last year he could. I agree. About hav, I was not focusing on him. His play was bad? I noticed the majority of the pressure coming from the inside as usual...NorCal RF wrote: ↑September 28th, 2025, 4:31 pm Rams QB simply can’t move anymore and the RT is about done. Rams aren’t very solid at center. Havs looks done. Rams miss Avila. So they get a pass there. They will have to draft an o lineman and corner. But they did last year as well.

Havenstein usually has a couple clunkers a year against good edge rushers. Today he had a tough match up.
Overall he's still been solid. But he is getting up there.

Interesting that you mentioned this, the team was so gassed in game #1 last year when they played Detroit. They absolutely did not want to play in OT.

Re: Great win by rams but we have issues.
The Oline is very weak, especially in the middle. We need to compensate with 12 personnel on a regular basis.
Stafford must never sneak the ball in short yardage situations; that's how you destroy an aging ailing QB.
Kyren fumbles; I'm not a big fan of his. We need a big bruising RB that does not cough up the ball.
Protect Stafford and this damn Offense will begin to hum.

I hate KW fumbles but the one fumble today was not on him , the guy was hitting him AS soon as he got the ball .Stafford was barely able to complete the hand off . Blame the swiss cheese o line .Claremontram wrote: ↑September 28th, 2025, 5:57 pm The Oline is very weak, especially in the middle. We need to compensate with 12 personnel on a regular basis.

The offense still has not gelled; Stafford has to get Adams into the game much earlier...at least McVay used the hurry-up offense today and it was effective. We need a cmplete game and complete pounding Thursday night to keep the crowd out of the game..

I can't think of another team that is complete this time of year. I am perfectly happy with a 3-1 start, particularly compared to the last couple of years. If we beat SF, we'll be sitting pretty.

Havs IMO just can’t handle that young speed rusher anymore. Didn’t last year. Isn’t this year. Has to be replaced next year IMO. Stafford is so stiff. Needs that perfect pocket. We all remember in 2021 how he could move the pocket with his legs. Not anymore. My guess is probably is the back. He is a hell of a “gamer” though………….brasilrams wrote: ↑September 28th, 2025, 5:24 pmStafford is having trouble evading some sacks that last year he could. I agree. Re: Great win by rams but we have issues.
The biggest issue on offense is the lack of vertical threat. When you have to grind virtually every drive stick to stick it makes scoring hard. You gotta execute so many more plays just to work it down the field. And yeah you can throw it to Puka every time but by the end of the year he’s gonna be drained. He’s definitely the modern day Hines Ward.
Defense is basically just the secondary. The Rams don’t have a lot of talent there. So if the pass rush isn’t dominant (and it really hasn’t been to this point), you’re gonna give up a lot. I think Landman had definitely helped a lot. But the other guys on the middle have done nothing. Thinking Young/Verse is enough to be a good defense just isn’t enough. At least not this version of Verse where he really hasn’t taken that next step to being a Khalil Mack level game wrecker.
I don’t see the Rams getting by the Lions with where the pass defense is. I think they can beat the Eagles with Barkley a shell of himself if they get them again. Packers would depend on who has HFA. Rams aren’t winning in Green Bay in January. They can certainly win in LA. And I still don’t see the 49ers/Seahawks being in the Rams level so not worried there.

Re: Great win by rams but we have issues.
Rams are number 1 in sacks so far this year.. Defence, even with no so great defensive backs, is not the problem.
Every team has gaps so i would say that our biggest issue is converting in the red zone imo. We can live with the rest of our "issues" all the way to the SB if we can improve our RZ conversation .

Trust KW more. Period. Corum too. These guys are picking up 5-6 average/carry. Thats a 1st down. We should run more...and again- that sets up the play action. I feel like McVay is just trying to let #9 throw more and have Puka/Adams happy. But that's not how you win games. HOWEVER- we are 3-1...so I will defer to McVay. WTF do I know?

Re: Great win by rams but we have issues.
If I had to guess I'd say that being behind in the 4th along with Indy not being able to stop the up tempo pace led to the 41 passing attempts. That and it appeared they were keying the running game. I don't mind being pass heavy so long as the run game works when called upon.. Which makes the passing game work.. And they are able to protect. Which right now is ??? From the middle left. Right now I do agree that they should not be getting into the habit of passing 35+ times a game given the current protection. If it weren't for Kyrens pickups, Stafford might be hurt right now.RAMFAN71 wrote: ↑September 29th, 2025, 7:32 am Trust KW more. Period. Corum too. These guys are picking up 5-6 average/carry. Re: Great win by rams but we have issues.
Look Indy is a very solid team. We did get somewhat lucky we could have easily lost the game but besides that indy bonehead long play resulting in a touchback the penalties really worried me. Too many stalling drives its a lack if paying attention or lack of decipline. Got to curb the penalties.
Like Ellenboken said when Avila geta back the OL will look better. Hopefully he will help. It was 1:33 in the 4th prior to Tutu throw we could have lost the game.
We need to be better! Period. The DL didnt get to Jones all game and I blame Shula for that they constantly rushed only 4 95% of the game.
Like i say if you want to go deeper go max protection.
I created a thread on Stafford a couple days back to me he looked real solid today. Need cb help, I would being Fergusion on he was a healthy scratch, must stop the penalties and need to be way more aggressive on defense especially against second tier QBs.
Thursday is a must win SF is down key players and Purdy to me is a second tier QB. We cant play like we did against Indy and expect to win.

Rams should have invested in a CB either through free agency or the draft. I see that as the only glaring weakness. DWill has not been very good so far.

Pass rush not dominant .... we lead the league in sacks(Team). BY leads league in sacks individual. When Withersppon returns we have the best defense in NFL. would I like a shut down corner? Yes absolutely but we just played what was statistically the best offense in the league this year and they scored 20 points with two short fields. (granted the wr being a bone head helped with this)
